The AC 3000ME was a stylish mid-engined sports car powered by the 3.0 litre Ford Essex V6. Launched at the London Motor show in 1973, development took longer than anticipated and it didn't go into production until 1979. 76 were made up to 1984 of which 17 were turbocharged . Production re-started under a new Company AC Scottish Ltd and 30 more cars were made before the company was liquidated.

Good idea. I always fancied one of these - when I was younger. Mainly due to that Essex V6 in a mid engined body.
Not a bad looker - for it's day.

I didn't know there were so few made!

I VOTE for that AC MR2 :) go YOTOYA GO! lol

Nice vehicle. It is based in Fiat X1/9.

the AC 3000ME has no relationship with the Toyota MR2 or Fiat X1/9 - It was designed by Peter Bohanna and Robin Stables who met while working at Lola Cars. They went on to design numerous cars including the Unipower GT MK2, Imp Nymph and various single seater Formula cars plus the Diablo (not Lambourghini Diablo) which formed the basis of the AC 3000ME and was first shown at the Racing Car show in the UK in 1972.

Essex eh? Didn't know Ford had habit of naming their motors after a place off a map.... Did they have Hawaii turbo inline 4, or maybe a diesel V6 named Munich? Just asking.
