I'm just curious to see what you guys are willing to download in a drift vid. When you vote, please state if you ahve dail-up or a broadband connection. I'll take these votes into consideration when I make my vid now that I FINALLY got a capture card.

I'm on cable so I don't really care how big it is. If you want to make it 50mb, that's fine with me. I'd much rather watch a high-quality video than one that's all fuzzy and distorted. Hell, I don't even really download the drift videos I see on here if they're under 10mb. Maybe you could upload two versions.

To me it makes no difference... quality is cool.. but then again, I would rather keep it a decent size to make it easier on those who lack the "goods". My vids are usually about 10MB, which IMO is a reasonable size... I'll even go up to 15MB, but not more than that.

The funny thing is I could get your house bought and made into a parking lot right now if I wanted to. :)

:p

I think 11-20 MB is ok for one clip/two minutes. But if its a longer video i dont have any roof with filesize.. 10Mbit Connection here so...

It really shouldn't depend on what size, it is your hosting. With large file sizes, you run up your bandwidth pretty quick.

I say to go for both the 56ker's (the few that there are) and the broadband guys, go with 10-20 megs.

I would say 20+ but it's just a lot to host a file that big.

3 to 4 mins compressed with wmv is about 13 to 15 mb. I tend not to compress with Divx mainly because my PC sucks.

The file size depends strongly on how long is the video.
I think 3-4 Mb per minute is good. My videos are 384x288 and the quality is between 400 and 600 kbps. I use .wmv videos.

I think this is fine. And I have 56k modem at home.

I'm glad you asked this question, Battle. My new video, I just finished, is something like 23mb, and a little over 3 minutes. I am glad to see the majority have voted for quality.;)

I'll take the time to download any size video, as long as the video is good enough for my download ....

I've been disappointed before with a couple of 10MB downloads in the past, so I know what I see :)

For a video hosting guy, the optimal file size is actually LESS THAN 1mb. Compressing is also an art many have failed to perform.
