Hi

I like to check out gtplanet via the PS3 browser.

I appreciate that you want and need sponsors and advertisers, but when I access the forum, there's an obnoxious ad that covers the top left side of the screen on every page. (Sponsors name purposely omitted).

I can't see half of the links I need to navigate in the forum because the ad image is over the top of them! It cannot be removed, there's no X to close the image. The forum is unusable with that ad there.

I would have thought that as GT5 only operates on PS3, that being able to view the site via the native PS3 Internet Browser would have been important.

Anything I can do, or that can be done to fix this?

Yeah, also experienced this. After the page gets to be loaded, an advertisement gets to cover that area. Even worse, I couldn't register properly just because of that.

That's why I stick to the tiring job of transferring the internet connection from my PC to my PS3 and vice versa. I don't have a router to share connections by the way.

You guys dont need additional routers to have more than one internet connection off the one line you know?

You can use a network "switch" such as A Netgear 5 port Switch. You connect your internet cable into a port, and then use another 2 leads to connect the PCs and the PS3.

As for OP problem... Isn't it R2 or something to change Windows, cant you close it down through that? I havent used the PS3 broswer since I got the thing many moons ago lol

This issue should be resolved for you now.

Open your browser, press triangle, check on the options and turn javascript off. Close and reopen. This does wonders for general PS3 browsing since it turns off all flash content, not just in GTP (most of advertising banners in the web are flash based).
