Action Replax max help

I recently bought an Action replay max cheat system and am trying to play final fantasy X using some cheats ( I've already beaten the game I just want to get to a certain part to show my freind the FMV sequence) anyway every time I load the codes the game wont boot up, not even the square enix text nothing just a black screen. Any ideas?

I knwo the codes are correct becasue they are the ones that came pre loaded on my action replay.

I have an action replay max . I can use some help getting it to read new codes off the internet. I cant get it to download . as far as the Ffx codes go try entering one code at a time until you figure out the code thats not working. I never had any trouble with codes for that game, but I have the early version. Sometimes the latest hits version will have compatibility probs with codes.

mine read new codes automatically and downloaded them, well it asked me if i wanted to download them and I said yes. Anyway I found that I'm supposed to hold L1 and L2 while loading the disk or somethign dumb like that and the game loads.... Anyway I just returned it and got a gmeshark 2, it ran flawlessy the first time with a massive ammount of codes and non of that please insert a valid ps2 disk errors like I had with the AR max. Another thing I didn't like about AR was the fact that you can only enter their official codes...
