Not sure if this has been posted already but here goes, did you know that the handbrake can be activated and left on without holding down the button ? All you need to do is hold your foot on the brake than press the handbrake button at the same time . When you release the brake and handbrake the handbrake will stay on until you accelerate . This can be quite useful when online if you want to park on the side of the track and stop the car from rolling around .

I've noticed this as well. You don't even need the brake to activate it though, just hold down the handbrake for long enough and it's activated.

Yes, when I got my GT5 (I have GT4) I noticed this... Very nice to just park to somewhere :)

Dont even need the handbrake, the normal brake seemed to work fine for me last night. Very useful if you are doing time trials, need to chat and dont want to pit by pressing start while moving.

At a complete stop, hold the handbrake for like 2sec and release it, it will stay like that until you repress it or give some gas. No need to use the brake :P

It's a cool feature I first saw in LFS, so I'm glad that it's in GT5, too, since transitioning between the two games is easier, especially considering my button layout is almost the same in both games.

It's only a relatively short length of time (i.e. < 1 second) that you need to hold it down for, as long as the car is stationary, of course.

I think it's more for photo mode so you can park on a hill without having the brake lights on.

I/m going to make a handbrake for my g27 soon so it will be even better!

I noticed this whe GT5 first came out. I was drifting using the DFGT, trying to show my girlfriend how to drift online. Spun doing about 150 into a turn (I believe it was Suzuka so I knew I wouldn't stand a chance in hell of making it anyway) Yanked the emergency break to get the car sideays before the sand and it worked. Car stopped short and the E brake to my surprise was still on. Told her, then a month later she pulled something similar and brought it up again as if she had never heard of it before.

if you have a g25/27 you can also stall the car engine while parked with the handbrake in so its nice and quiet lol

Funny thing is, you can put the handbrake on and keep it on in the Ferrari formula cars :)
