I play with all aids off, pro physics and manual transmission but i'm having a hard time keeping some cars under control without active stability management (ASM). That's the only thing I used to keep on for most cars, but recently I keep it turned off. With some cars like the mini cooper or focus on Eiger Nordwand (550p) I perform better with ASM turned off, but with other cars like the mazda rx7 or clio on Suzuka (550p) i'm struggling and it makes it so much harder. With the F40 it's a disaster. It's so easy to spin out, so sensitive. But to my surprise the top times in the rankings are with all aids off, even ASM turned off.

Is there really such a big advantage driving with ASM off?

This is now the second thread from you that I have to close. The forum has a useful search function. If you searched for 'Active Stability Management' in the Gran Turismo 5 Prologue section, you would have had your answer before you submitted this post...
