Active Steering w/G25

after turning Active Steering on for the first time, after a suggestion from a fast friend, my wheel sounded like it was going to explode every time active steering kicked in. needless to say i quickly turned off AS never to turn on again. this was an effort to shave time off F1 times. this happen to anyone else? and is it normal?
 
Geez, dosn't sound good. What wheel are you using?
Never had that with my G25.
Active steering is for begginers any way :P

Keep it off.. like Rydeit mention, its for beginners
Having everything OFF, it will make your lap times faster. As well go into Options, steering wheel options, and turn off Power Assist.
