ive found that searching thruogh(sp?) the members list that about 50% of the members are completely inactive. what was the point in signing up if theyre not gonna use gtp to their advantage?
i for 1 have learnt valulable things about gt3 and met some nice people who also care about the game like i do:rolleyes:

just because a person doesn't post don't mean he should be deleted as they are just looking for what they need and don't want to cause problems. (and i don't think we need two theads about this topic

Indeed, no misspelled curses!

-- And, bondy... don't you think having 10,000 members is great advertisment for GTPlanet? It would be a shame to start deleting accounts!

I'm almost positive that this has been brought up a few times in the past, and Jordan said he wasn't in favor of it.

I personally think it's pointless. How much space does one member's account take up? One whole kb, or something ridiculously small like that?:odd:

I've been a member over at sportbikes.net for a year, or so, and I've never made a single post. I'd be quite upset, though, if I were to go back there today and find that my account has been deleted because of my inactivity. I go there almost every single day to read up as much as possible, and to download various videos/pictures.

Besides, what is it hurting having a bunch of unused accounts?

I dunno, maybe their puter died, or they got a girl friend, that takes up much of a young mans time girls can be soooooooooooooooooo demanding

But ? cant ya'll check the members list an pruin out the ones that arent active for say at least a year ?

Just a thought.. Back to GT4 for me .. I wish

I am totally against deleting members and in my forums i've only ever done it once. And that was because it was the registration account that the boards were made with.

But like Josh said, i wouldn't like it if i registered at a board and then, say, i lost the URL and found it a year or so later. I would expect my account to still be there so i wouldn't have to go through the hassle of re-registering.

As said above also, the higher the member list, the more likely new members will sign up.

Maybe you should just delete the multiple personality accounts...;)

You can't view attachments without registering. I'm positive that has something to do with people registering and not posting.

Discussion over.

Also, someone may register but not put an active e-mail adress into the registration. Then, they can't activate their account because they don't get the activation e-mail.

I really do not see any advantages coming from deleting user accounts, only disadvantages. There is simply no need to do it.

I don't disagree, some one came here a few days ago whinnin about the members that are inactive... It is not his concern .... But this has brought alot of attention to the matter... I'd rather focus on racin, but there are some that WILL NEVER be happy no matter what is done.

Happy Motoring

On the subject, didn't (member and loser with no life) Klostrophobic once compute that like ten percent of the members post sixty percent of the posts?
