Earlier this afternoonn i looked on the playstation store and there was ad-hoc play. We were told it was out a couple of weeks ago but never turned up.But here it is now.

(I'm from england, this may not have happened in different countries)
 
Yep i noticed it too, although it's annoying that you have to use wired connection. And my ps3 is connected wirelessly. Oh well...
 
I didn't know ad-hoc party wasn't in the UK. This explains why I've not seen any of my UK mates racing in this yet.

Welcome to the "party"... (though the initial excitement seems to have died off for ad-hoc party).
