I have a Logitech G27, and when driving in race cars or rally the wheel goes insane with clacking noise. Now I know some people love this effect, but I cant stand it and would like PD to add an option in the force feedback menu to turn it off, it really ruins the experience and pisses the neighbors off.

All PC Sims, and even console racers such as F12010 have environmental effect, dead zones, wheel rotation, PLEASE PD give us some options, you call it the real driving simulator but give us none of the options of a simulator, not everybody likes to drive in the same way.:banghead:

Although I love the effects, I have to agree with you on this one.

There should be more options allowed for us.:grumpy:

Clacking noise? I'm not really understanding the issue. What does environmental effect have to do with your Wheel making noises?

Rumble strip, going off the track, slight contact with anything really. All these make the steering wheel to a little mad!

...That's what cars do in real life? They're called rumble strips for a reason, you're supposed to feel them, as they signal that you're approaching the limit of the apex.

May I suggest gripping the wheel firmly as to prevent any squrriely motion of your motor vehicle.

Can't you just unplug the power if you don't want force feedback? You can with the DFP, I'd have thought it would work the same way with the G27.

In a real life situation the cars steering wheel dose not rumble like a Logitech G27, this is just a persuadeo effect due to the fact you cant feel the bumps in your backside.

Which is all well and good, but the awful noise it makes like you have just ran over a bag spanners is not pleasant and if it happened in a road car, you would think something is seriously wrong and take it to the garage.

Having to switch off the force feedback isn't the answer, PD should add more options in setting up wheels in the first place. All sims have options and even many console racers now add these features.

Day time i have no problem with it but i can't really play late night when i have the most time to get into the game as the banging an crashing (dfgt set to 1 ffb) still wakes the kids up
and all im doing is slightly clipping an apex now and then
The ffb when driving the x2010 seems like its ten times more to

It's not me that has the problem, I was simply explaining what he meant.

I enjoy the feedback and shuddering, it adds to the experience.

Just unplug your G27 from power lid when you are playing GT5.

Will that work? Does it still have any centering force or does it just act as it does when it's turned off?

I would like a setting like in Dirt2 that turns off all ffb but keeps a centering spring or whatever, because yeah the G27 clacking around is too much on dirt.

20 bucks says though we'll never see an update for the G27, they wanna move their Masters of Thrust into our bedrooms.

It will just be loose ;).

There badly needs to be an option to turn the effects down. It's fine with most cars, but hopelessly over the top with rally cars and the X1. I expect the G27 would literally self destruct if you tried to do the Vettel challenge...

Would also be nice if Polyphony Digital Inc. would add more low-frequency effect (LFE).

I have a dual Buttkicker setup and really the only time I ever feel anything is when hitting something. Problem with that is I run with the gain up high so that I can feel what little LFE there is and when you hit something it actually feels like you just had a very violent crash.

I have seen that some users have bought graphic equalizer(s) to help isolate the LFE. Before going out and spending $100+ on a 15-30 band equalizer, I gave a 12 band car EQ a shot and while it did help some it was no were near the quality of real LFE like that added to other games like F1 2010. The best use of LFE in a console racer that I've felt has be Forza Motorsport 3. PC is no contest being you can create your own most of the time.

Most likely I'll have to build two large vibrators and just hook them to the existing vibrators in the wheel / controller.

Sorry about that, my response is to the first two poster then.

Ever drive the F10 on the Nurburgring? Everytime I get to the back straight it feels like I'm driving in the middle of a earthquake. So much loud vibrating and it wakes up everyone in the house. I hope they give us more FFB options in a future update. :(
