Since the nixim mod has a rubber inside its progressive spring, i thought would it make difference if i added it to the standard g27 pedal ? I love to drive with the abs off but the brake is too soft. Is hard to heel and toe too :L i was thinking of buying the CSP But since the price is so feckin' high i decided not to.

The GTeye spring doesn't include a rubber insert and I believe I read somewhere that Dave from Nixim doesn't recommend using the rubber for GT5 use.

The spring upgrade kits are fairly inexpensive as well as having been designed to do what you want.

Just on a side note, you do know that if you were to buy the CSP's you wouldn't be able to use them with GT5 unless you bought a fanatec wheel?

What about the adapter that allows it to be used with a Logitech wheel?

Didn't know there was one, care to give any more info?

EDIT: Are you sure you don't mean the adapter that allows you to use the logitech pedals with the fanatec wheels

Also with my experience on that adapter, it will not work on the PS3. I've tried but no luck whatsoever.

I have nixim with rubber. It feels much better. The original from Logitech is like a pen spring compared to the thick new nixim. The rubber just makes it hard at the end of the push. the spring gives you the overall stiffness.

I recommend the nixim but adding some rubber couldn't hurt

I have the nixim v2 with the rubber insert installed.

Contrary to many recommendations, I;

Kept the rubber in,
Can brake no problem
Use only bare feet (not realistic, but too lazy to tie shoes)

Everyone said that the pedal is too hard for bare feet, and that you shouldn't have the rubber in.

I ONLY play GT5 on ps3. I can hit the brakes 100% no problem. I even did a 4 hour nurburgring enduro with bare feet and only one break (not brake lol) halfway through.

So long story short, it's up to personal preference and everyone's different. :)

Sounds good. I checked with Nixim and they are in fact recommending I try with the rubber first as that is how it's designed and utilizes the 3rd stage of resistance. Did you cut the rubber down in size at all? Do you notice any loss in pedal travel or braking sensitivity?

nope, I actually thought it was too small, until I realized the the inside of the 'pedal chamber' had raised bumps that squeezes the rubber at about 85% brake.

The rubber is a really good reminder NOT to jam on the brakes every corner. The pedal seems to travel the same as before, and it shows that I can apply it 100% if I have to. Sensitivity would be the exact same as before as the sensors themselves haven't changed, other than the fact that I can now be a lot more precise with my braking as the weight of my leg can't depress the pedal nearly as easily.

I also put the original clutch spring in the accelerator pedal. 👍
