Has anyone actually seen this increase or decrease the et of a car ff fr or awd?..the first few cars i tuned i never noticed a difference in ets or 0-60,0-100 so i pretty much have turned everything up to 60 on every setting since,i have been tuning the hpa r32 golf and ive noticed it seems to make a slight difference in the 0-60 and et on speed test.It also seems to make a difference on indy as well. When i turn the lsd settings down from 60 to 45-50 on the rear it seems to launch a little better if I turn the front down it seems to give it a better 0-100.I use manual 99% of the time when tuning also maybe that is what im seeing but ive never noticed it before or on any other car.

I always used to be a 60/60/5 guy, now I don't even bother. 45/55 on the split usually.

yeah ive always done the same on the lsd just leave it usually but ive been trying to make this little golf as quick as possible so ive been messing with little stuff i usually just put everytime for awd cars to see if anything helps. as far as the differential i have noticed 45-55 gives the best et on speed test BUT makes you spin more then 50-50 on indy. i had a buddy use the exact same tune as me and we made about 10 passes to make sure launches was even and the 50-50 was always a good 1/4 to 1/2 car ahead off the line.

I thought I noticed that too at Indy, so I had it 50/50 and forgot about it. I then tuned it seriously at SSRX, got a good time, but recently I put it back to 45/55 and it got better by .005-008

yeah i think what happens is that on speedtest a car will spin less then indy...pretty much its like real life. My hometown track hooks great my SS gets consistent 1.5x 60fts and et's 10.05 @140. when i go to another local track that isnt prepped as well if i run the exact same setup i will run real high 1.5x 60 fts and mostly 1.6x 60's and my et and trap will be slightly slower also...But if i lower the tire pressure ill run real close to what I usually do.But then when i go back to my hometown track With the tire pressure low i run slower until i put a little more air in the rear tires....Now i know this doesnt exactly apply to gt5 but its the same concept that you want to minimize wheel spin where ever your at because one setup will not work for every track.

BTW we should be able to adjust tire pressure im surprised GT hasnt added that feature yet being that it is one of the most used tuning methods by all racers drag, auto x, and drifting and can have a fairly decent affect on performance with little to no actual effort.

LSD initial acceleration and initail torque do nothing, period, there for sideways movement while cornering. me and Mafiaboy tested it with the veryron same tune same everything but my LSD was 40 60 20 his was 60 60 5 and we got exsactly the same times offline. and online were neck and neck the whole way to finish even across the line.

It would only make a difference if you steer or drag on very bumpy tracks.

yeah i know i have done the same thing multiple times I stated that in the original post that up until using the r32 vw i have never seen it make my car faster or slower at all with everything turned up or everything down,It may be a coincidence that i thought it has with the r32 a few times

The long reply i posted about how ssrx and indy are completely different when it comes to launching and how the differential balance (45-55) can help you on ssrx but hurt you on indy had nothing to do with the lsd.

I have trouble keeping my FF cars straight when drag racing because of the negative rear toe and the camber on the rear wheels. Maybe setting the LSD high would help eliminate any power loss I get from that.

The very FEW i ff i have tuned always seem to randomly pull to the left or right right before or as i shift at redline...not sure why?

Torque steer?

I kid, unfortunately there is no concept of torque steer in GT5 :(

yeah that would make sense if it did it when the wheels are spinning but it doesnt, it does it more in the upper gears at high rpm then the lower gears.Ive always wondered that also why they dont have torque steer, wheel hop,missed/grinding gears at high rpms, loading the suspension on autos and some other stuff i cant remember right now.
