ok, so i have been having problems getting anything but third without being able to turn the abs off. so here is what i did after update 1.08 and ps update 3.60 from a couple days ago.
backed up game save on a usb thumb drive.
went and deleted all game data under game utilities. i did NOT delete my game save.
ran gt5 with no internet connection
looked in garage and had all cars and proper $ and levels.
ran nascar advanced challenge and was in first place on first lap. EASY
got nascar ticket for all golds. (it was the only one left as silver)
turned internet back on and ran gt5. prompted to update 1.08
updated game. took a while, but shorter than getting 3rd repeatedly. and damn better than waiting a minute looking at the screen each time for this challenge.
still havent touched game save other than to back it up.
got an insufficient space error. need 32mb, which i have.
quit game and deleted some demos and a movie. easy 32mb. still havent touched game save, although it would only let me back it up to 'cloud' but im not psn+.
reran game and gave me the same error right away.
so i went and signed in to my UK account that never has had gt5 run before.
it prompted me for the data installation. did it.
switched back to my main account and ran gt5.
got further running the game but got the same error.
i had to copy my game save from the usb back to the main acct. worked fine
so all in all, deleting your save data doesnt work. unless maybe you have ps+
just thought this may save some people some time.
