Hey, i've recently started advertising my site with google ad words, but they are proving to be useless. My ads are all set up, my payment sorted, but my ads just aren't appearing. At all.

Which companies do you all use? I've left google to do what it wants - it's not costing me anything, since no ads have actually appeared

Also: does anyone know why my ads are being so reluctant to show? Does adwords have a minimum input of costs per month, or something? (I only selected £3 :p)

Thanks

Jon.

I have only used Free Banner Exhanges, but I will Post up my Reconmended ones.:)

LinkExhange - A Free Banner Exhange run by Microsoft. I used this banner exhange for about 2 Years, and It has helped make my site quite successful. It looks like thay do paid services onlt now - If you want the free version, I will upload it for you. The address you login is at http://ulogin.bcentral.com

RCUnion - Banner Echange for RC Sites. Good, but not as good as LinkExchange.

BPath - Good Banner Exhange, but the Advertize with use area is Huge.

So out of the free lot, I would reconmend Link Exchange aka Microsoft bCentral.

EDIT:
Microsoft have abandond bCentral... :(

I have curculed the important infomation... :(
The best for you on the free secton is now bPath

, but my ads just aren't appearing. At all.
Sometimes with banner exchanges, it takes time to your banner ads to become active. This is usally because somebody has to manually approve them. :)

Hi Jon,

firstly, if your ads arent appearing on google Adwords then contact them to get it sorted.

or alternatively try using Mirago, an almost identical system to Adwords/Adsense.

http://www.mirago.com/advertisers/index.htm

get involved with commisioning and affiliate schemes but a word of caution: make the affiliate product relevant to your website. In other words, if you run a motorsport then use motorsport related affilated, not credit cards, mobile phone networks or gambling etc...i cant stress this enough. Your google ranking will suffer if you do not heed this.

if you run a gambling site then by all means use a gambling affilitate. We make a lot of money on our sites mostly through commissioning, selling other peoples products for a cut of the profits. A lot of websites now offer this and i prefer to steer clear of anything google has to offer.

hope this helps.

Sorry for deserting this topic, and thanks for the replies :)

Google have since kicked into action (about 5 days after i posted this  ), and i've gained several members from it :)
