Hi guys, i would like some advice on this PC, i am close to getting it.
I am getting it primarily for games (rfactor, iracing ect).

Is this a good deal? i mean will it do the job? it seems pretty cheap for the system, but is there a catch?

I realise i need a Graphics card, i am looking at this one..

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0057NFTI8/?tag=gtplanetuk-20

Will this do a good job with the system above or is there better cards out there for that sort of price range?

and finally will i need any other upgrades to go along with these or should those be ok?

Thanks in advance. ( i am not very good when it comes to computers!)

The computer seems to be fine but it may be bundled with a real cheap power supply. So I'd suggest making some budget for a PSU just in case(400W-600W PSU is a good choice. Antec, Seasonic, Corsair, Silverpower, and Be Quiet! make good power supplies). As for the GPU, you could look for something newer like an HD 7770. Those will use less power(Only need a 400W PSU with the whole system and the card)

Thanks very much for the advice, Really appreciate it!

You sure the HD 7770 is better than a GTX 560 ?

For the graphics card you can check on that link

After checking your link I would rather get a HD 7850 which is yes GBP 40 more but totaly worth it.

I just meant that it would be better suited since it's a newer design(28nm gpu die size to help power draw and heat vs a 40nm you'd see on a HD 6770). I've looked up performance between the two and their performance are about the same. So ideally it's best to get the HD 7770 for better cooling and less electricity use. He can get the HD 7850 if he thinks the extra cost is worth the extra performace. But since we are talking about playing iracing he would be good enough with an HD 7770 rather than spending the extra money for a better graphics card.

Well he said he wanted to get it primarly for games and mentionned iracing and rfactor but also possible other stuff so yeah. But I agree with you, even if the HD 7770 is slighty below the old GTX560 it's probably not noticable by eyes and if it use less electricity it might be worth it. I would personaly push it to the 7850 or get a GTX560 Ti because every test I've read still recommend it over the HD 7770 but that's my opinion.

It's a H61 Intel chipset, old and cheap mostly lacking sata3, performance wise overall it will be almost identical to a Z68. As someone else said, power supply will mostly be a super cheap overheating fire hazard. This system is overpriced, about 100US dollars.

Check toms hardware for video card and what you are willing to pay. I'd suggest Nvidia over ATI, ati lack physx.

^ ATI have their own generic version of PhysX, the name escapes me, but it's not where up to the kick of nVidia's implementation.

Really, to the OP, why not build the computer from the ground up? Save money, get better hardware, and it's a learning curve. Just ask around here and we can help you, if you've never done it before. There's plenty of YouTube vids.
