hi all,
I'm going to race the clio cup later on the day and need some advice on it.
Which Clio should I buy
The stock one to upgrade or the Cup car to upgrade? cause I don't really know which one is better. And if you're willing to give me advice on it, coulkd you maybe post some times that you do with the Clio in the Clio trophy? Then I know how good I am.
thx on advance... 👍

Clio Sport V6 24V has same engine, less power and more weight as Clio Sport Race Car. And because it is cup car, it allready has better tyres and some upgrades, so you spend a bit less for upgrades. But it's more expencive. If you can afford it, Clio Sport Race Car is better choice in my opinion.

Welcome to GTP, thaleppes!

The Cup car is better, without doubt. I really like it. BUT... it's overkill in the Clio races. All the other Clios are the non-race Sport model. I used a Clio Sport with T2 tires and 296 hp. The only mods were the Race intake/exhaust and the chip.

For Deep Forest, my laps were in the 1':24.low" range. My MOV was about 22.low" starting from last place.

For Grand Valley, my laps were in the 2':07.mid" range. My MOV was about 12.high" starting from last place.

For Monaco, my laps were in the 1':49.low" range. My MOV was about 16.mid" starting from last place.

For Rome, my laps were in the 1':36.high" range. My MOV was about 21.low" starting from last place.

For R11, my worst track, my laps were in the 2':12.low" range. My MOV was about 16.high" starting from last place.

Hope this helps~!

I'd also recommend the road version. Even if you're not very confident in your skills, the road version can completely dominate if you throw enough money at it. I find it's extremely easy to drive as well (YMMV).

Winning the Clio cup gets you the New Beetle cup car, which you can use to very easily win the Beetle race (if you haven't yet). Or sell it, which is what I did.

The cup car is definitely overkill for this championship.
T2 tyres & and oil change should see you through in the regular road car, but expect some excellent close racing!
Besides which, why spend money buying the Clio cup car, when you can win one and 150000Cr for doing the superspeedway enduro? (Granted you may have to do it a few times, but it only takes just over an hour!)

The Clio Race Car handles extremely well and you can easily win in standard form. But, using the road version with mild tuning is more fun.

Already figured this one out.
I'm going to use the race car with some t3-tires and an oil change ;-)
thx for the advice guys.
Now I can win the Beetle RSi for the Beetle Cup :-)
