Advice on Japanese Championship

Ok, I went in for a couple of races on the Japanese Championship (Expert Series) yesterday with my bone stock Subby WRX STi '07 since the field consisted of comparable AI cars like the Supra RZ, NSX etc. However, I found that I was coming in about 4th or 5th. I decided to upgrade my tyres to Sports Soft as that usually evens out the playing field a bit more. I don't suppose the AI cars are highly tuned or anything are they?
 
Why not check on the 'usual opponents' screen before you enter the race ... that way you should have a rough idea of what you're facing!
 
The would believe that the AI always use stock cars.
 
The AI cars are sometimes slightly tuned.
 
If you just want to complete that race then get your favorite JDM ride and tune it up a bit. Or if you have extra $$ then get any Japanese race car.

Or if you want a good race, try race slicks on a bone stock JDM car.

Haven't got that update because my PS3 is not connected to the Internet so I have to sometimes use a bit of trial and error :)
