I've been snooping around for info ona race TRD engine, one of the high rev version AE101s (think Initial D).

Also been told there are many variations, depending on how much you're willing to spend and how high you want to rev.

If anybody knows a lot about these engines, please post info or links. Just wanna learn about these amazing motors.

I think the stock motor for that car would be a 20 valve 4AGE... is that what you mean?

The Formula Atlantic race cars use 4AGEs, I think they're something like 240hp, but I don't think you would be able to afford to run one of those in a street car.

www.mr2oc.com has a lot of information on the various versions of the 4AGE, it's all directed towards MR2s but the engines are the same.

also i believe they had something like a 13:1 compression ratio and ran on something similar alcohol.

i did some research about 7 years ago when i had a corolla that was as fun as a dishwasher. my conclusions (at that time) were to buy a honda :scared:

Throw an S2000 engine in there. It'll rev high, have similar power specs, and probably cost less money. 👍

EDITED TO ADD: It will also be more reliable, easier to find parts for and less illegal (probably only slightly less illegal).

If it meets model year emissions, it's legal.

I assume you have an AE85 or AE86? Even an AE92, mentioned AE101 or AE111, AW11 or SW20 would be good fits, as well.

it's an AE85 Trueno, red, dead engine in my backyard. But I don't plan on getting one, just THINKING about it.

The engine I'm talking about is a highly tuned version of the engine found in the '96 - '98 Sprinter Trueno/Levin pair. The engine code was AE101 if I remember correctly.
