Aemiya Asparadrink RX-7 vs Cusco Subaru

My question is, how can the RX-7 with ~10 less torque be faster than the subaru?

I've watched the replays of the top5 players, both Subaru and RX-7 and the RX-7 is hiting higher speeds, the only thing i can think of it that despite the lack of torque for that top speed, its got alot better aerodynamics, a stat not shown so i guess trial and error for all cars when trying to break top10 in the time trials.

If anyone have some facts about this id appreciate it.

to clarify, when im talking about "speed" im not talking about fastest lap but actual km/h on the straights.
 
Numbers alone don't tell the total story about any individual car. Peak horsepower and torque are important, but even more important is the area of the power curve. The more area under the curve the faster the car will be. (I'm referring to dyno charts btw). Besides that aerodynamics and frontal area of the vehicle in question are important as well. So are the gear ratios and final drive ratio of the transmission.

There's a lot that goes into making a car perform the way it does.

*I'm talking in general. I know nothing about either of the cars mentioned by name in this thread.

Haven't actually checked, but couldn't it just be the gear ratios
 
yea the aemiya is faster
I have cusco subaru and my friend have the the Aemiya rx 7
We raced around the ring a bit. It always leave me on the straights.

Almost certain the Cusco Subaru is RWD.

I'd put it down to aero and balance. Dont pay too much attention to the 'stats' of a car, as this often ignores a host of other factors such as weight distribution, suspension design etc etc.

You just have to look at which cars dominate the GT300 catagory. AFAIK the Rx7 does amazingly well. Especially considering the car is prepaired by a very small tuning shop (even more amazing when you consider how small physically the tuning shop actually is).

How much does each car weigh? Also, Rx-7 has the clear aero edge of the 2.

The 2003 model is RWD
2008 model is 4WD, ive got one. Its slow compared to the other GT300 cars I have
 
I own both premium models and the Cusco feels like it lacks torque.

I've raced online against the RX-7 and at Monte Carlo, right after the first turn she bogs going up the hill, which I dont feel with the Asparadrink.
