That depends on which GT-R you are talking about. Is it the Hako-suka, the 1973 GT-R, R32, R33, R34 or R35?

BTW, a floor pan is different from a flat floor, if that's what you are talking about.

If I'm not mistaken, all of the modern GT-Rs (R32 and newer) have body, spoiler, and flat floor modifications available so long as you purchase the models with detailed interiors--just look for crisper graphics on the thumbnails.

If you have a non-HD TV, look out for a greenish tinge to the windshield in the thumbnails -> standard, also if rearview mirror is clear to see -> premium. Avoid flat floor/floorpan/diffuser because they add about 20PP to your car but you do NOT gain anywhere near that level of performance. Online when you see a car that's the same PP as the others but significantly slower, this is usually why!

Yeah, I admit the flat floors are rated too high, they should only give about 15 PP or so because the loss of top speed is too much for the boost in aerodynamic grip to overcome. Add to that GT6's somewhat flawed aerodynamics engine and they really aren't a viable option for PP-restricted races.

Good call. 👍
Haha IT'S A HARD LIFE XD on one side I used to play Forza on a friend's HD TV and it was just gorgeous and more involving, but those new TVs are so thin there is no area for low frequencies to resonate so you never have any strength to the audio - my older TV isn't sharp but soundwise it beats every modern TV out there! And a powerful sound is hugely important in a driving game :) Ofcourse, if you have a new TV + auxillary sound system, PERFECTION!!

PS PD have had some good ideas to assist those playing in lower resolution, like the R2 button for page zoom, also not seen GT6 in HD but in Forza the menus text layout etc were different when playing HD/not so it may be the same in GT6?

Not terribly new as the PS3 is hooked up in the basement, and the stereo it feeds into isn't as good as the one upstairs either, but yeah I can't imagine GT or GTA on an older TV.

It's frustrating for sure - especially in games like GTA where the smaller details are not just nice to see, they can be essential for survival!! :D In GT6 I rarely think about it; used to it!

Older TV's had larger speakers but not necessarily better sound, CRT TV's had more room inside for resonance but it wasn't tuned so the advantages are all but lost. The main limiting factor in both is speaker size, old TV's had bigger speakers and some empty space to use for resonance but relatively speaking its still a small speaker and you're not going to get good range from it (small speakers are good for mid range sound but distort at high frequencies and don't have enough surface area to make audible bass past a very limited range) and the resonance space is full of TV bits that deflect and distort the sound before scattering it through poor porting (all the ventilation holes and such).
Modern TV's are no better or worse, just quieter because they have smaller speakers with small drivers (magnet on the back of a speaker) which just can't produce the volume. The upside is that the speakers are generally made of better materials so high frequency sound is less distorted. Because the body of the TV is slimmer you get very little resonance so the sound ends up kind of tinny.
Best cheap solution is a pair of speakers that plug into the headphones jack, the speakers will be of similar quality but the resonance chambers will be better proportioned to create a richer sound and you can point it towards yourself rather than having the sound bounced off walls before reaching your auditory orifices 👍
