I have just ordered Wangan Midnight for PS3 (Japan origin - Region free) from a 'game import' site, and have been told that there is enough English in it for me to be able to navigate without much trouble, but I would struggle to follow the story (Not a big deal to me as I have seen it all before!)

Now, while browsing the above site I noticed that both Afrika/Hakuna Matata and Aquanaut's Holiday are available for order, two games that I am most certainly after purchasing.

However, one small uncertainty is holding me back. Both of these games are region free, but with Afrika/Hakuna Matata being 'Japan' origin and Aquanaut's Holiday being 'Asia' origin.

I presume both games will be in Asian/Japanese, although I have seen screenshots of Aquanaut's in both English and Japanese. I would need both of these games in full English, as the type of gameplay/objectives require you to be able to understand equipment stats, briefings and so on.

Just wondering if anyone could shed some light on these two games regarding the languages they are currently available in (along with any possible NA/EU release dates) and whether the Japan/Asia origin games are only in Asian/Japanese as I suspect they are.

Many thanks in advance! :)

Afrika/HM is actually coming to the US in English, but as a National Geographic branded game, I'm not sure when it's supposed to some out though. According to Play-Asia, Hakuna Matata is in English and Chinese (I'd imagine you can select between them)

And according to this blog post, Auqanauts Holiday is in Japanese, and I cannot find any information on a English release in the future.

Edit: Reading Further, the Menu "Headings" are in English, and signs on land are aswell, which makes navigating a bit easier.

This is what I have heard...

Afrika is in Japaniese and Hakuna Matata is in Chinese for the rest of the asian market. There is currently no english version for sale. However video and screenshots of an all english build have been seen and it has also been confirmed that is it going to the US as National Geographics - Africa but it hasnt got a confirmed release date.

Here a link showing Hakuna Matata is only in Chinese..

As for Aquanauts Holiday your in luck! Its currently available in a Chinese / English version which you should be able to get from your game import site, just make sure you dont get the Japaniese version by mistake. I also think it has trophies!

Heres the link for Aquanauts Holiday showing it has English...

So basically buy Aquanauts Holiday now and wait for the US Africa. :) All PS3 games are region free and will play on any console.

Robin.
