When doing a race in the rain , you know the roads are wet obviously but after the rain has stopped the road instantly looks dry ? why , it makes it really hard to know when to change from intermittent tyres over to drys, why are there no signs of the rain like wet patches, puddles, etc it would be nice to see the roads drying out, or at least have some sort of little indicator showing if the roads are now dry or wet as visibly you just cant tell

Because wet patches and puddles would need more memory, you would have a lot of more textures on the track then. By the way, the racing line gets dry quicker than the rest of the track.

So? other race games have weather and show wet roads puddles etc even games from 3-4 years back so why not GT5 ?

Didn't PD claim dynamic weather? Not just wet or dry? Just another example of why GT5 was a half arsed job from PD.

Back to F1:2010 to see that I guess.

F1 2010 doesn't get enough respect or credit. Sure, it might not be quite as simulation-y as some other games, but it's still a far cry from Burnout or most other console racing games, and even GT5 isn't nearly as simulation-y as some PC offerings, but there's a lot of stuff that F1 2010 did well. The dynamic track surface in F1 2010 was just awesome. Puddles, dry line, rubbering-in, marbles, et cetera, and still running 24 cars at once.

The track may look dry, but there is still a difference in look slightly. Visual isnt as important as physical. The track still has a large spray, and less grip. Yes the visuals are a bit out, but who cares if its not perfect lol?

Well seen as though PD yapped on about attention to detail ...

Visual is as important as physical , yes the track has large spray but not if your the leading car , this game was boasting about dynamic weather so where is it?

you need to be able to see the road conditions in order to make the right tyre change , so with out the Visual how can you prepare the car for the physical?

They paid attention to detail, in the cars. They felt the need to have even the most minute details of the premium cars included, but then didn't have time for things like shadows, or mountains that don't pop in, or decent looking randomly generated tracks. It's a good game, and the physics are great, but it really is a half finished game.

Kaz (or whatever his name is, i'm not sure) cared too much about how the cars looked and didn't leave time for the rest. I honestly would have been fine with Forza level of car detail with destruction that wasn't convincing but was still there and decent looking tracks over whether or not i could see the fibers in the carbon fiber. It's impressive, but when i look at that, then see the shadow of a flag looking like Mr. Game and Watch, it kind of ruins the whole thing for me. I really hope they fix this stuff along with other things (no weight distribution shown) in the updates. I'm fine with paying for more cars, but not for parts of the game that were meant to be there from the start.

Whilst making the AI a challenge on the top level 👍

Did they patch it??

I played it only around launch period and the AI is 2 to 3 second slower per lap in identical cars, on some tracks they are better just about a second slower.

Like I said, the top level lol, I find the AI will make attempts to overtake and try to block you aswell, which GT5 AI doesn't do. I find on the top level aswell the AI is still slower but whatever you do with AI in any game it will never have the ability to think like a human can, it will never be able to decide split second to switch sides of the roads into a corner to distract the driver in front or be able to decide to use a diffferent line each lap to see which is best, it just can't think like that, so for now we will always be quicker ... So I don't expect AI to ever be amazing, I'm sure in the future, maybe 20-30 years the AI will be that impressive, but until then I, at the very least, expect the AI to have some basic common sense! :P

Btw, if you find the AI slower than you in F1 get yourself one of the three bottom cars in career mode and turn the tyre degradation etc. on ... You wont find yourself so quick then :)
