...I've experienced a new found attraction to GT2.
I've started a new game, going as far as possible to play through the game driving only, you guessed it, Mazdas. I'm pretty damn far too, lol. Ofcourse, it's completely impossible to beat the game just with Mazdas(keep in mind I'm also using(though as little as possible) Mazda partner companies, Ford and Suzuki).

Then I realized how much fun I had some 4 years ago(or more) making hybrids...but back then, my hybridding was pretty rediculous compared to the mechanical excellence I had with GT3 hybrids. So I set out on a search...looked for the original paperwork I had for hybridding GT2. I found it, found a full list of engine codes, and several lists of fully built hybrids. Only problem - I didn't write down what the basecodes were, so I'm completely lost. So online I went searching for websites that I had visited more than 4 years ago, and I found them, well, most are now dead, and the once fluentness I had with the codes has left my mind nearly 100%.

So I need help. Mainly what I need is a list of the basecodes(for GT2 V 1.2) and a list of part codes. The main purpose I have for hybridding now is to create more realistic Mazdas(for instence, taking the 323 GT-R and making it into a regular 323 hatchback), but I also would like to make some for racing, like some faster cars that I can use to progress through the game with Mazda power(untill I get to the company races, ofcourse).

Any help is greatly appreciated. If all goes well I'll post my Mazda renditions for all to drive.

Thanks!
Ryan

Ohh...I also need to know how to remove the turbo, boost gauge, and boost sound. Also I'd like to have the values for changing wieght and gear ratios.

Thanks again.

I'm afraid I can't answer those off the top of my head. I'll have to dust off the old PSX and GSpro. I'm tempted to say that U would remove the turb, gauge and blow off by setting those addies to zero. The weight thing is going to be a problem, if memory serves me, it was impossible to target a specific weight, and 99% of the time when trying a weight code, it would cause the car to jump all over, or do other strange things. Best bet is probablyto find a car with the weight U want, and use it's base weight code. The gearing should be a straight hex conversion I think. I will try to check on this stuff later this afternoon.

BTW, are U using a cdx or what?

OK, after checking, U remove the turbo, gauge and blow off by setting those 3 basecodes to 0000

Gear ratios are a direct hex conversion, so for example to have a 1st gear ratio of 3.241 U would convert 3241 into hex=0ca9 and use that with the 1st gear basecode.

As I thought, the base weight codes seem to be random, for instance, the Nissan Sylvia i was looking at wieghed 2403lbs, the code for that weight is 0192 which in decimal is 402 changing it to other values had this result.
403=0193=2601lbs
401=0191=2667lbs
so U see a higher and lower number both produce a weight increase, in fact the lower number creates a higher weight increase. As far as weight reduction, different combos always seem to result in 1 of 3 weights so no matter what U use for a code U will get a normal stage 1,2 or 3 weight reduction for the weight U have.

Alright cool. I'm using the regular old-school Game Shark(not GSPro). I thought that I should use all 0s to get rid of the turbo and stuff, but I got mixed up because on GT3 hybridding(using MK's program) you use Fs to get rid of something. Thanks for clearing it up!
I for some reason, can't load my new game save on the PSX(keeping in mind that I made the save on the PS2). Is there anything I can do to hybrid on that save, or should I just transfer the cars I want to hybrid onto a new save(that I made on the PSX) on the PS2 and then go back and forth(which for me isn't that difficult, just 2 wires and a controller and the mem cards)? I don't know why the save doesn't work on the PSX, I guess it's something to do with the game coding and system coding...

Hmm yeah that's new to me as I have never played GT2 on the PS2. I guess if U can, build them on the psx with one save and trade them to the save U are using. U don't have a Dex do U?

Nope, sorry. I do have a sharkport, but I don't think I can use that with GT2/PSX mem cards.

I'll see what I can do in regards to transfering cars.
