I do not think they are worth it... As a service manager for a small shop i occasionally have to deal with these companies. I Hate to lump them all into one group but i think i will... They Are Awful.

They Rarely Cover what you think they're gonna cover. they take forever to respond, They try to short the mechanic shop and use junk yard parts.

any-ways

after having another complete denial by a warranty company...
Would it not be better just to put that monthly premium into a Savings acct then tap into it when needed? the job in this example is around 650$ pl&t i imagine that is between 2-5 months worth of premiums for the warranty plan.

I don't know... just seems like there are smarter ways to spend money on paying for car maintenance.

I mean, im sure there are a few out there that are actually worth the monthly premium. But if you have to use it that often... you probably need to find a new ride.

please give me replies that prove me wrong...

I don’t know the details of these warranties, but perhaps they cover bigger expenses? You’ll almost never profit from having an insurance for example, but the purpose is to protect you from the rare but big expenses. I imagine these warranties are (or should be) designed in a similar way.

I think as a general rule, used car warranties aren't worth the paper they're written on. There might be some exceptions, but you need to read the fine print carefully.

For my car, the most common problem is the Slave Cylinder failing. The aftermarket warranty specifically excluded clutch-related parts, so it would've been pointless anyway.
