It's that time of the year again. Instead of going down to beach for a party, I'm sitting here with two swollen eyes, leaking nose and I feel like sheet. I even had to leave a party just because of this. A party with hot chicks!!! Ah...! :(

Any fellow mates who's in the same pile of **** as me out there?

I usually don't get bothered too much by allergies except for during the early spring, even then, I sneeze a lot, but my nose doesn't get too stuffed up, so that doesn't bother me too much. My eyes usually bother me the most, but some decent eyedrops solve that problem for me.

No allergic reactions here, however, during these warm days, I eat a lot of iscream. Usually, I have no problems but certain types give me a lot of...rash? Is that the correct word? My skin gets red and bubbly or something. Those types I get it from are those water iscreames or what do they call it these days. As if you are sucking on water with an actual taste...

I've developed a shellfish allergy over the last 4 or 5 years, which absolutely sucks because I LOVE shrimp, crab and lobster. Not oysters, so much. Now, however, a single shrimp will send me into hives, then waves of nausea. When it first happened I was at a party that had a dish of boiled shrimp on the buffet, and I had my fill. Thought i was gonna die that night, assumed it was just bad shrimp. A month later had a shrimp cocktail with dinner at my daughter's birthday dinner out, and the same thing happened, just not quite gonna-die bad.

I have a granddaughter who's allergic to peanuts. Her day care people have to keep stuff handy to treat her in case she gets someone's peanut butter sandwich, or a piece of some kid's Snickers bar. If you saw Hitch with Will Smith, that's what happens to her.

I have the respiratory allergies but not so bad as when I was younger. On certain days in the spring I had to wear a mask to school, like a doctor's mask, and I had a doctor's excuse from outdoor activities for recess and PE. Talk about enhancing your image with the other first graders! Even worse, the older kids!

I've gotta abit of hayrever thsi year :grumpy: Just a runny nose, but damn it's annoying.

Also had hives when I ate a tube of smarties in a few seconds, never had it since though.

I have hayfeaver, but from year to year it varies how hard I get it.

Last year wasn't so bad, the year before I was streaming. I never knew one self could produce so much snot. I felt horribly terrible too, and was so bad I couldn't go outside for more than half an hour.

Currently, I am starting the suffer again. This time I'm very bunged up, so most of the time I'm speaking like I'm holding my nose. I feel horrible at times too, like a constant cold. Even my eyes have started to itch, which is quite rare. I do take some tablets, but they're not helping significantly...

Yes, I'm a hayfeverer as well.

Sucks.

Though I find water to be helpful - even being near a body of water (the bigger the better) stops it. So head down to the beach.

Having very frequent showers completely helps too. You don't have it anymore. Only to have it hit you the minute you walk out of the bathroom...

The weird thing is, I live just over (Edit) 130 ft or so from a large body of water. Too far...?

Maybe my really bad moments, evenings and mornings most of the time, are due to the tide. The tides we have are very strong. Water is there, and then there isn't any at all. Maybe I should investigate...

I just got in from the pub and it seems alot of people are suffering from hayfever around here.... why, I was in the gents not half an hour ago and the amount of heavy snorting I could hear going on was unreal... luckily, the chap who was obviously in some sort of nasal difficulty had his friend in the cubicle with him to help him out...

I'm all new to being "feverish" - so I can't really help...

I'm close to mid 30s, and have had 3 attacks so far - all happening at my new ('ish) place of work.. I've never had any reaction to anything (like that, shut up ;-) ) before - so it is kinda weirding me out...

The 3 attacks I've had so far, all happened at wrrk, all happened After lunch, and all of them cleared _after_ I got away from the harbor area where I work..

Being allergic to peanuts must suck. Quite scary, actually.

I don't know how familiar you guys are with Oregon(that's a state in America), but we have lot of trees. I never had allergies when I was growing up in Japan. But after second summer or so in Oregon, I got hit hard by pollen. It was absolutely miserable.

I tried all the over-the-counter allergy medication, but they just made me drowsy, didn't help much. Just few years ago, my boss told me that he just stopped taking stuff for allergy one year and eventually, it just stopped. I had nothing to lose, I tried it. First year or two, it still got bad during pollen season. But after that, I haven't even noticed a need for any kind of medication. This year, my nose were pretty runny, and my eyes got itchy a couple of times, but that was about it.

P.S. I recommend lotion applied kleenex for your runny nose. When my allergy used to be real bad, my nose got red from blowing my nose all the time. I could blow my nose all day with lotion tissue.

I'm allergic to hard work, apparently.

Other than that, none for me.

My allergies are rather sporadic. It's different every year. It's gotten better as I've gotten older, but I still get bad sometimes.

I'm allergic to anything that's green and growing, anything with fur, and for some strange reason beats (which I found out by eating Greek salad).

The green and growing stuff along with the furry creatures typically just gives me a stuffy nose, dry throat, and I sneeze really bad. But the beats make me break out in really bad hives and I have to go to the hospital so they can pump me full of drugs.

I am allergic to pollens and dusts for few years
so I hate to vacuum and go outside during spring
try those nasal sprays, but useless for most of the time because my nose allergic to them
sometimes I am even allergic to other people's sweat :yuck: and my skins will go red
luckily my girlfriend doesn't sweat except doing hot yoga or something
or she would kill me by sweating
