I Just found that firefox was being really slow, so i closed it down. When i opened it again, up came this. I clicked start firefox, but it didn't like it. So i created a new user, and it booted up, but all of my bookmarks and cookies have gone :nervous:

Can anyone help me?

Whatever you do, just close that profile window don't touch it... I lost everything dealing with my FF when I okayed it.

Yeah, it's a little late for that now

I created some new profile, and now it's using that instead, and i have no idea how to get it back.

That happened to me quite a few times lately, usually it happens if Firefox had earlier crashed on me. :indiff:

I just close down that profile window, hit Ctrl + alt + delete, under the processes tab there should be "firefox.exe", I close that one, and then restart Firefox. Usually works that way.

[Edit : Sorry, don't know how you could recover the earlier profile :indiff:]

Yeah, that box shows up when you try to open firefox but it's still running. Just close it on the task manager first.

Ok that happened to me before. When it shows the profile windows its because your other profile's process is still open (ctrl+alt+delete) to open the process window and kill the firefox.exe process. Then you can open your Firefox back with this profile. You cant use the same profile at the same time, thats why, and the reason why the profile was still open is that you didnt gave the time to Windows to close the entire profile, which happens sometimes to me.

Also, your old bookmarks and cookies are in your old profile, dont panic. I dont remember correctly how to set back to the old profile, but you should be able to find by yourself, its pretty easy. Once you're in your old profile, just delete the "new" one (the one without your stuff), and there you go :)
