I have noticed that I can never out-brake the AI into some corners. If I brake at the same point as they do, traveling at identical speeds, as hard as I can without locking up then I run wide or off completely while they tuck into the apex easily 10-15 mph slower than me. Overall the AI is really slow through corners and I pass them easily through or on exits, but I can NEVER get them braking into tight corners such as hairpins or chicanes.

It is very noticeable and it happens consistently with identical cars. At the moment, it is the tight chicane on Matterhorn where I catch the lead Prius in my own Prius in the Electric Circuits Race #2. Side by side at the same speed, brake at the exact same place and he decelerates way quicker than I do.

Has anyone else noticed something similar, or am I just crazy?

That seems a bit odd. I out brake them on pretty much every corner without trail braking or with. Is not uncommon to over take 2 or more cars at a time using this manner if going very fast.

I can't say that I paid attention to the Prius. I did run the one make race with it but did not notice anything other than I picked the wrong one and wasn't fast enough at first.

On the electric circuits I just used the Tesla Roadster with ballast and reduced power.

I've never had this issue, when doing the Ferrari one make at Monza or the Lambo one at Rome into the first corner I usually make up like 5-6 places just by out breaking the AI...

If you have ABS off, yeah, it can be difficult to match the braking points of the AI at some corners. If you have ABS on, I have no idea how you're not able to.

I run without ABS, but I always feel like I'm at the edge of having grip. Only a few times that I break traction. It seems to happen on any corner that you would take at 45ish mph or slower.

In any case, it's just an annoyance to me in that I really hate to make contact with other cars.

Yes, the AI definitely love to brake early and HARD!! They drive like most Canadians actually, slam on the brakes at the sign of anything resembling a curve. EEEK!!! Makes me feel at home.

It could be that you're not on the same tires as the AI. It wouldn't surprise me if they run one step higher compound than you'd expect and it is only noticeable when they brake since the rest of the time they're never anywhere near the limit.

That may well be what's happening. They seem to always use the highest tires allowed. I've noticed they sometimes seem to be able to brake harder than me, but they always brake way too early so I can still outbrake them easily.

Then there is of course the extra "ultrabrake" they get if you freak them out and make them park while they are already decelerating, but that's a somewhat different issue.

I was doing one of the 500PP races and the Lancer on top braked so hard, it not only lifted its rear end, but it made a full 180° spin half in the air, and landed facing the opposite direction.

I've noticed that the A.I tends to drive or brake differently depending if you're behind or in front of them. It also depends how close to them you are. If you're next to them, they simply don't see you.

This happens to me in every race.
If they aren't braking where no breaking is needed, they're stopping as if though the tarmac is sand paper.

Agree with OP. If I hit my brakes full on when I first see the brake lights on the car in front of me I find that I have to swerve around them. I think this happens more often in the earlier races and haven't had to deal with it past the national A races.

It feels like I have much have much more fiexibilty and control when I'm using my racing when rather than my DS3 when I'm bracking. It's just to bad that my setup makes using my wheel a bit of a pain.

my favorite part is when they decide to brake almost to a crawl the second you get behind them on a turn...
