I'm currently doing the 1000km Suzuka endurance race. At around 90 laps in I noticed a very slow moving AI car on track (Noticed it at 130R the first time around - nearly put my into the wall). I assumed he'd simply ran out of fuel and was heading for the pits. I'm not on lap 96 and i've passed that car an additional 3 times. This time he put my into the gravel at Lesmo 2, because the AI is coded to move off the racing line when there is a car approaching (So he essentially takes a defensive line). But when he's tracelling at ~50 mph and i'm 140+ it's a disaster waiting to happen.

Is this a new glitch, a result of the mid-race save feature or is this a common problem? And does he ever pit in for fuel? I don't think I can take another 76 laps with a mobile chicane every other lap.

Interesting, might just be a flaw in the A.I. pitting script. Did you save the replay? I'd like to see the A.I. struggle around Suzuka.

I'm still going, I will make sure I save the replay. On lap 102 I saw the car leave the pits, but once again they had 'forgot' to fill it up :indiff:

Its nothing new, it's happened to me before. Doesn't happen often but it has happened before.

i had it once in the 24h of le mans, 1st it was one of the vipers, but when i suspended the race and came back it was back racing normal, after about 1 hour an other car did the same, drive 80km/h and enter the pits every lap but didn't help.

i think its just a bug that needs to be fixed.

or maybe his pit crew wal bullying him?:grumpy:

On closer observation, he's pitting every single lap, but just driving through. I guess if his tyres are ok, they send him back out without any fuel. I know fuel prices are high, but that's a bit harsh.

Once i've finished my current stint I think i'll suspend the race and come back to it tomorrow, see if that fixes it.

I just know one point with all Endurance race.

All AI skill and strength just fit with slowest car in the whole race.

Quicker car will cause them tried in quickly.

Lesmo 2? That's Monza. You said you were doing the Suzuka 1000...

this would happen alot to me in GT4.. on La sarthe, randomly one car would slow down to like 40 or 50 mph.. and because i would be so focused on the road and fighting off the AI.. i wouldnt be paying attention sometimes to the map.. it was always fun dodging cars with barely a half second notice, especially if a car ahead of me hit him first.. with b spec races it would require a well timed press of the pass button to get my car out of the racing line in time.. was a good way to take care of the pesky faster car next to me ahaha when hed slam into the slower car at full tilt

Lol I always wanted to see that happen. I did only a few small races so far and never saw anyone run out of gas yet.

Must have been a colossal shunt to knock you all the way from Suzuka to Monza.

With the AI going at 50 mph, it's going to take a while for it to get back around to the pits.

I dont think you can save the reply for endurance race.

I guess he got it mixed up with Degner 2. Degner is kind of a reverse, tighter version of the Lesmo.

On my copy of the game I know I end up driving through the pits quite often without getting a choice to stop for gas, even when I come in slowly and in the right way the tire and gas option fails to appear. Its happened on Leguna, Suzuka Tsukuba etc. It use to bother me now I've gotten used to it. If the same thing happens to me, I don't see why it can't happen to the AI cars.

Did you save the endurance race, and resumed later ??
Had the same thing doing my 24hrs lemans.
Some car was driving 80kmph and did it for the whole 6hours of my stint.
Saved the game, day later resumed, and suddenly it was solved :D
So it a bug, but after resuming for first time, it didn't happen again, and saved it like 4 times total in 24hrs. So its a small bug, but goes away easily.

 Yes indeed, I did mean Degner 2. Easy mistake to make :p

It was pitting every single lap but was simply driving through instead of getting more fuel. I think at the end he'll be a good 20+ laps behind the rest of the cars as he was doing this for around 25 laps.

I dont think you can save the reply for endurance race.

Well at least others have had the same problem, so it's not some mysterious phenomenon that only I have experienced.

Yes, it was during my second real life stint (So I had suspended the race already when this happened, but it didn't happen right away when I loaded the game, it was a good 30 laps or so).

It does seem to have fixed itself after I suspended and loaded the race once more. It is a bug in the code relating to pitstops/fuel levels. I believe some people have had a similar problem with B-spec drivers not taking on fuel when they pit if left to do it automatically. It's not a serious problem, but it is annoying coming up to such a slow moving car when you're fighting for the lead. I'm running a GT500 car so at least i'm not going to lose as the AI are too slow, but if I was running a car closer to what the AI can do, this would have really set me back 10+ seconds the number of times I had to weave around it.

It always moves the middle line of every corner to let you past, but it would be far easier if they just stuck to the racing line, it would be far more predictable and easy to pass. I've noticed this a lot, lapped drivers will always move over, but not quite far enough for your car to fit past at most corners, so they just obstruct you.

I'm at same point in the same race and i haven't seen this happen

I guess it's just a random occurence.
