AI is a cheating little ****

Yep. Nothing feels as satisfying as beating a cheating A.I. Fight fire with fire. Simple as that. :sly:

I wish the AI could or would cheat more and be more competitive and aggressive. That is why I pull down the PP so that I can make some of my favorite races more challenging. I like it at the point where I have to hit my marks with very little room for error. I'm not a top racer especially against real people on-line. My challenge is to figure out the game's algorithm, then trail the AI and try to beat them to their spot so they have to adjust their line without bumping them.

Why are we complaining, it's more of a challenge when the AI has the unfair advantage, think Street Fighter 2, that infamous cheating M Bison :)

If the AI used fair cars all the time there wouldn't be any real challenge in the game, aside from (in my opinion) 4 special events and a handful of licence tests. What would be the point to the game besides the community? Please don't ask PD to cut back on the difficulty more than they already have, they may just take you up on it...

You weren't restricted to 300. It was simply that the cars you could use had to have under 300 when they were stock; but pretty certain you could tune them to over 300.

The Opel Speedster event was a lot worse, because all of the AI cars had more horsepower than you were physically able to have.

i remember the speedster race, it was pretty hard.

i do use one not so much a "trick" that works in gt games. i stil;l to this day have to use a tune for any race, if the race is not managable i just lower my top speed and have a higher accelration to beat the opponents. even in gt5, if i cant beat a certain seasonal, i just lower my top speed and beat it.

this is in no way to say tunes are not needed. tunes would make it even easier. itys just that the method i use has always been enough.
