Unless its in a Race, the ai in the practice mode is stupid easy... anyone else notice this? Even if I give the AI a much better bike, its still to easy to beat.

The 1 on 1 in arcade mode is pretty easy too.. I wish there was a way to set the difficulty up.

i'm only at the junior level but so far it seems like if you don't crash you'll win the race.

The best race i've had yet was a challenge for the ducati 999r 3 laps of deep forest, I passed the other bike on the last corner of lap 3 then go my 10 seconds on the straightaway.

everything is worth a thread, this board is so condensed into enforced threads sometimes it scares me(i've read here from time to time since 2002 i think)

Thats what a forum is for. I dont think we will run out of threads...

better question is, was 'you think this was worth a thread' worth a *post*?
That's what a forum is for? For posting little things that the answers are obvious to? We won't run out of threads, but thats not a reason to post things like this, it clutters up the forums, and it becomes hard to find stuff your looking for. Your thread just took a little common sense to answer it on your own. If you can beat the AI, and your not the best in the world at this game, then it will obviously be easy for other players too.

My post was a useless post in a useless thread. And my question acually got some replies on it, so that shows that people acually gave it some though.

If everything was worth a post, then threads would not get locked, exept for reasons such as a repost, or if it went a little off topic.

(I assume this thread will be closed soon too, only one person has replied to the acual topic.)

Ya, I noticed the same thing. I don't even bother qualifying, because you always qualify up front, and you simply run away from them - and I am really not that good.

Gosh, is it that easy again?
I have to rethink on spending money on this game, concidering there are many many other awsome games.

Like I said, the races are fine, they are a good challenge.. As well as the 'challenge' mode. But as the practice mode matchups just seem waaay to easy... Doesent really make sense.

The challenge mode is anything but challenging, except for the Yamazha TZ250 race. Other than that, it's a walk through the park. I would really have liked them to include a pit option. You would be more able to customize races to make them more difficult.

Well when it comes out her then im doing the same as GT4, playing till i get the bikes i want the nriding the hell out of em by myself.

That's my approach. I do like the Challenge Mode and some of the races are quite a lot of fun, but I'm happiest with just tinkering with the bikes and seeing how well I can ride them around the different tracks. An extra tenth here, a few more tenths there...

If you find the challenges too easy then complete them quickly then work on other things like golding the license tests or re-running the races on slower bikes.

Example: You found the 600cc championship to be a cake-walk on the R6? Go back and do it on the Triumph, and so on.

That's all I can think of.

This sort of topic appears for every PD game, IMO they do it intentionally to balance off the demands and styles of hard-core gamers/enthusiasts who want to have the game super hard and people new to the series, new to motorcycles, new to PS2 and new to even video games who they're trying to attract (especially to a new series like this). It's a difficult balancing act but ultimately they have to make the game easier as this probably satisfies a greater number of players. :)

Good points. You often have to create your own challenges in PD games because of the broad range in player skill and, therefore, game difficulty.

I get the impression PD is just 'testing the waters' with TT... I *cant wait* till TT2!

Thats when we will start to see all the features from GT start to appear... :dopey:

I've played TT for a few hours, and even though I'm a bike nut, the game is a complete bore because of the non-existent AI. There's no sense of racing; you don't need to focus on good lines, or saving your tires, or stalking a faster rider because it's too, too easy.

I'm playing with pro mode on, and I didn't bother with golds on licenses cause I just wanted to do some competitive laps. A game like this helps me to appreciate Namco's MotoGP series, because they at least have the basic function of scalable difficulty, where you can set the game to easy, normal or hard. While I'd like to think PD will fix this in the PS3 version, I doubt it will, given how little they improved the AI from GT3 to GT4.

The physics are very good, but there's no challenge, and racing my ghost is just way too geeky (not that I haven't already crossed that line).

I can understand why there's so much emphasis on Photo Mode, because aside from admiring the pretty pictures, there's not much to do.

if your ghost is cutting you are pressing R3(or maybe it's L3) as you drive.

I want to try racing friends in this game but i don't have any friends that are into games like this.

I tend to turn the ghost off; I'd rather concentrate on the racing line. But I like the concept of challenging yourself by trying to beat your own times.

I find the difficulty (far as the races are concerned) ramps nicely the higher you go in the races. I just completed race 12 Super Sports 600 last night, and either I was just tired or it really was harder but it felt like I actually had to keep my pace up to win a couple of those.

However, I will agree with Samurai. Has ANYBODY managed to beat the TZ250 challenge? That's freaking impossible. I can pass the first bike with no problem but it's like they stuck a nitrous on that lead bike. I had to skip the TZ race (11) because I just can't get it. The unfortunate result is, I have become exceptionally good at Tsukuba, but I also hate that track with a passion now. I'll probably never race it again after I finish all the events that use it.

Another note on the difficulty, I finally have irrefutable proof that PD pulls the license times out of a hat. I got golds on expert with such ease, but there are a few Junior tests I can't break Silver on.

Here's the MotoGP4 project leader on TT: "After trying out Polyphony['s game], I felt that there is no doubt that the motorcycles are beautifully created and indeed looks great. However, I believe our series may be able to offer the player a feeling that they are part of the actual race. For instance, with the other titles, the player may not be able to feel the exhilaration of chasing the 2 bikes in front of them, while trying to prevent the bike directly next to you to pass, as well as block the one following right behind at the same time. Also, the player may well miss out on the feeling of astonishment once they realize that a single mistake caused about 10 bikes to get ahead. These are all elements distinguishing MotoGP from other competitors."

Getting golds on super seemed easier than golds on expert.

I finally set controls to SemiPro and was able to pass it on my first ttry after that. Before on Pro mode, I tried for almost 2 hours without success.

As someone suggested earlier, I went back and golded all licenses. I tried to select crappy bikes, and started at back. Also, although failures is turned off (its more fun to wheelie), I try not to cut grass or touch another rider. Also, trying to set fast times at various circuits. That extends the replay value tremendously!
