Just completed the 300km's of Grand Valley, used a MX5 with a good setup and around 200PK so those 60 laps wouldn't be lonely ones in front, and i would have a fight with the bots.

Had a good run for my money in the first stint with the main bot as we were challenging eachother for speed. The Hard tyres i used were good for 10 laps and then they began to wear, so the best thing was to go for a 2 stop strategy and pit in lap 20 and 40.

Expecting the bot to do the same he kept on driving, untill his tyres were wasted and he was loosing 2 to 3 seconds a lap on me.

Eventually he pit only in lap 29 (and the other 10 bots also i suppose), and then another time when his tyres were totally wasted again just 3 laps from the end in lap 57.

In the end i cruised the line with more than 30 seconds difference.

Is the AI pit stop strategy always that bad i wonder? If my memory serves me right in all other endurances i did (been a while), i noticed the same ignorant strategies from the bots...

They've changed the AI's pit stop strategy recently to be better than it used to be, particularly on really long tracks where they used to run a lap with completely destroyed tires.

But I think they still use them down to the last 10% or so if they can, which is not the fastest strategy. So they do always have a few laps at the end of a stint where they drive them a little past the point they should.

So it's easy no, when you feel your tyres are getting too bad for comfort; pit! As the AI will just commit track suicide on totally worn tyres 90% of the times.

Easy win each time... unless you copy the bot strategy and drive around brainlessly. I wonder which idiot was in charge of programming this.

To be honest, I only notice a change of grip level when the tyres are about 50% worn down. So, if it wasn't for the tyre HUD, I wouldn't know when to pit in for tyres until it is too late.
