I just got GT5
this week
and I must say the AI is a lot better than I thought. Yes they sometimes rear end by mistake, especially those Tuned Lotus drivers
They do seem to know their cars can brake deeper and turn faster than most others....
While other AI drivers are more respectful of your track position.
Overall much better than in any GT game so far, some of the AI drivers will dive up the inside if you leave the door open and I also noticed a few swerving side to side down the straight so you can't slip stream 👍
