Hi. I have a big problem. Well my computer recently had a virus in it and my dad deleted our harddrive. I got a new username and when i went on AIM, i had no buddy list, it recognised my name but it like gave me a new sn, with like a brand new list. Does anyone know how i can get my AIM list back? I found my aim log but there wasnt alot of peple on it. I also have one at school that i had when i went online there once, but it seems more thorough.
 
AIM buddy lists are stored on the server, so if you log in with the correct user name you should get your old list back.

You can login on any computer and it will bring up your buddylist stored on the AOL servers.
 
It's really frustrating for me because I use Trillian and the same AIM account in two locations. When I remove the buddy from my AIM list I have to launch Trillian on the other computer without connecting to the AIM network so that it doesn't re-add that buddy to my list on the AOL server.

Well i signed on at school yesterday and it just gave me the same thing, maybe becuase it saved with my new list, but i hvae the aim log from school on a disc, but im asking it is a bagfile so how do i run it with this aim, do i just like put it in a folder or something, or do i have to take the names from the bag file and manually transfer them to AIM?

Was it sort of an export function from AIM? Perhaps there is an inport function as well.

Maybe the AIM Macintosh program that is in use doesn't know how to download the list.

you maybe right, its annoying the only way i can talk to people is when they IM me or the ones i remember off the top of my head.
it could also be the fact that she never updates her ****, airheads + puters = dont mix
