My accord now needs to change from stock to a 'rice' mobile and back. Mom occassionally drives it on weekdays and she complains :D I is absolutely uncessary but I think it's worth a try. For compressors, is 5 gallons, 2hp, and 100 psi enough for the impact wrenches to run continuously?

Nothing much things to get swapped, just a Blitz LM cone, Greddy Evo muffler, and 18" chrome wheels :D Expected to get these swapped in less than 20 mins.

ok kid.... just find the air wrench you want and find its opperating CFM and PSI ratings. Then find a Compressor that can produce 10% more then the wrench uses. At least that is the way we do it.....

If you're only using an impact wrench (5-7 cfm), you can get a good air compressor like

for about $400, and if you want a cheap one, well go ahead and have to replace it in a few years. Also stay away from the oiless ones, as in about a year the seals start getting bad. I would just recommend getting a bigger one as you might start expanding your types of tools and some take more cfm's and such.

Here's some sites to help you find a good one.

Hope I've helped.

Oh hell yeah, just what I need. Thanks!! I can now safely scrap the cheap e-bay compressors that can't even make an airport from twin peaks.

ok kid....
LOL yeah i'm an idiot at mechanics. we Asian-Californians are also attention whores - have to be a ricer at least once :D then head for a Chevy 350 :)

sorry bout the 'kid' thing but I tend to call people kid alot....

and If you are serious about getting a compressor I would get an upright modle with at least a 25 gal tank and 120psi max.... if you just wanna run an air wrench every now and then, the one in the pic would be fine....

Personally I have a 50 gal/150 psi upright. it will run an air tool all day....

Right now I'm researching necessary info before which air compressor I buy. I have two weeks before my paycheck comes. Because I am probably going to work on my car in an area without electricity, compressors with diesel engine will be considered. Some guy at Kragen said I should never use air ratchet on bolts for cars but common sense says that if there's enough power to turn, it'll be fine.
