This is spam. I've already answered everything in here.

Naah, I'm not asking it - hence the no question mark. You don't have to answer to it. :)

And I'll ask you again, Why is the NSA, CIA, and FBI frantically searching for and recruiting Arab speakers?

This question is frivolous. You do know that these groups all 'frantically search' for people that can speak English as well as some other language, right? It isn't just Arabic.

It's not frivolous when I hear that there are volumes and archives of untranslated Arabic phone onversations that may contain important information.

Right, but there's that issue for every language.

I don't have proof but I doubt it.

You don't think that Americans want Russian translators for possible Russian spies, or Spanish translators for central America? Plus, US government translators have other purposes: Translating treaties, translating in courts for non-English speakers, and helping diplomats either learn the language or for day-to-day routines.

After almost 50 years of cold war I'd guess there are plenty of Russian translators. Spanish? I don't many people who don't know Spanish.

 Well sure, in Arizona...

We need to be made aware that 24 is a racist program  They have cast an Arab man as a terrorist.

I also remembered after seeing that, that Law and Order also did an episode on terrorism and their terrorist was an Arab, too.

Doug, if security were to give you a line-up of two random people, one of which was an arab male, and one a white male, and they told you to tell them who you think is more likely to be a terrorist, you are saying that in your mind somewhere you wouldn't immediately say the Arab?

I'd probably think that "they" were trying to throw me off by picking the Arab, so I'd pick the white fellow. :p

You'll never get a straight answer out of me for this question, because it'll never happen in actual life. Plus, if I say the Arab, I concede my point, but if I say the white fellow, then you'd think I'm just saying it to uphold my point.

You're smart Doug, I thought I'd catch you on that. It would have been a win-win situation for me but you just had to be smart. Why couldn't you be meme? :(

:p

Are you absolutely sure she was not maybe kidding with him? If not, that is one of the most amazing examples of stupidity I've ever heard. I'm literally trembling witht that desire to slap that biatch.

Another thing I've noticed are the so-called "random" searches. I've seen eighty year old women searched, little kids searched and not their parents. I've seen pregnant women have to take off their shoes...?

The sad thing is that this so-called randomness that is supposed to be indescriminate and fair is useless. Junior got his backpack searched while Ahmed got on the plane with nail clippers.

They should stop trying to not piss minoriities off and search the people who are most likely to have a weapon at hand. I guarantee it won't be an eighty your old lady or a little kid.

Sorry, but this kind of thinking would result in a easy pattern to follow, and thus would be avoided by the terrorist. The idea behind the random searches is that a pattern would NOT be able to be detected, thus keeping the threat at bay. Fortunately, we don't live in a military government where we still have some freedom, but unfortunately the random searches are still to few that the % of not getting caught is still rather high. The only way to truely detour terrorist would be to search every man, woman, and child....but I don't think we're ready to give up our freedom.

I don't mind the airport security because it is keeping us safe after all, but i don't associate "Arabs" with terrorism. Wasn't that guy from America in al-qaeda. He got let off because he was American...i think that was a bit unfair, but anyway. How do you know that every single person that is Arab could commit a terrorist crime? Wouldn't they just start using their "white" sleeper cells instead?

I set the metal detector off when I was going to Hong Kong, it was my Astmha inhaler and my wallet, I was asked to go over to the side and was searched with a handheld metal detector. But the funny thing was, I never the detectors off in Hong Kong or Singapore. Unusual.

Current and past US bombings in the Middle-East. Bomb thousands of innocent people just because they live there... same shit, different day.

Of course, you don't see that as a terrorist act, because you live in the United States. But to these people, how do YOU think they feel about getting their asses attacked by another country, just because their leader is taking decisions and they can't have a word in it? Do you think all Americans are thinking the way Bush does? or that all Canadians are as retarded as Mr.Chretien?

Christ, why do i even bother...
Hey get at least one thing straight, Chretien is NOT retarded, he's an idiot. The problem is the U.S. is that most people refuse to question the actions of their own government. They lived an isolated existance and don't know and don't care what happens elsewhere. did the U.S. react to other terrorist groups like in N. Ireland, France,Spain, Africa, etc. No they didn't because it didn't affect them. Sept 11 comes along and now the U.S. declares war on terrorists. Why not before?

Better late then never, eh?

On a serious note, the American population DEMANDED something to be done. This hit a main nerve for many American families on a very personal level.

Action = Reaction
