After spending a great deal of time browsing this board and viewing everyone's great cockpit solutions, I think I may have found my solution. I was thinking about buying the AK rocker and a Xlerator wheel stand. I was hoping for someone with first hand experience with that combo to chime in. I need something that is easily moved and stored, but is rigid and steady. I like that the AK rocker can be left out and used as a seat too. I like that the Xlerator can be used on other chairs and is adjustable for other players also. I guess my only concern is stability for the Xlerator and compatibility with the AK. I thought about building something, but I don't have a whole lot of time. I also only have the tools and knowledge for woodworking. I'm not sure I could make something that is adjustable, lightweight, and folds that would be sturdy enough for the task. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Unless the height of the Xlerator wheel stand can be moved up/down, I think the combination of that & the AK rocker might not be a good idea, simply because you'll be in a lower seating position in the AK rocker chair then the height of the Xlerator wheel stand can accommodate. But then again, in looking at the pics of the wheel stand, I can't quite make out if this is really going to be a problem.

Good luck though!

The Xlerator Wheel Stand works great with the AK rocker and The IKEA chair. There are pictures of this set up in Cheap Cockpit Alternatives only. Post number 345 and 348 on March 7, 2005. The Xlerator Wheel Stand is the best value on the market right now for a wheel stand. It is stable, storable, strong, a kick to use and just cool! You should read the feedback on ebay. Must have for GT4!
