So, modern DTM on crack? That would have been cool. This was built for a championship that was proposed back then, but never ended up going ahead. The Pro-Car championship was actually meant to be literally F1 drivetrains, mounted to purpose built racecar chassis, with almost totally stock looking saloon car panels over the top. It would have been so cool if it had gone ahead. It was proposed as a support series for F1, but Alfa was the only constructor to build a car to the Pro-Car regs, so the series never went ahead.
Can you imagine an old Fiat saloon with a Ferrari F1 V12? Or an 80's Honda Accord with their F1 V10? That's what it would have looked like.
Nothing like that. DTM is GT prototypes with carbon monocoques, this would be like Production Touring Cars but with mid-mounted 800hp hybrid V6s.So, modern DTM on crack?

I meant that in that DTM is a silhouette series, and Procar would have been a silhouette series, but with even more powerful cars.Nothing like that. DTM is GT prototypes with carbon monocoques, this would be like Production Touring Cars but with mid-mounted 800hp hybrid V6s.
Yeah, the problem is that other manufacturers realized quickly that a F1 drivetrain without F1 downforce was quite excessive.
