Hey guys, I live in Toronto and I saw on autotrader.ca that there's a '68 1300 Junior GT for sale at $9500 Canadian, which is about $7160US. I've never seen one being sold here and I haven't seen one on the streets either.

But my dad for some reason really doesn't like buying used cars, so I need some tips on how to persuade him to get it. Oh and right now we have a 323ci from 4 years ago, we've recently had some trouble with the transmission, and the engine sometimes doesn't start properly.

Oh I forgot, here's a picture of the car for sale.

the car looks awesome but umm...is there a reason you want such an old alfa? Maintenance will be VERY expensive...

Do you mean that it's expensive because parts are hard to come by or because it'll constantly need repairs? The guy selling it says it was just restored.

It is VERY old.

My dad will only buy used cars because by teh time you buy it, all recalls, niggles and rattles should be solved by the time he gets it. Normally at about 3 yrs old.

Sure, get it if you like it.

But we'll all be laughing when you go to an Alfa dealer with a fix-it list longer than anything Jimmy Saville had ever seen.
