It's a Viper with a bodykit. This has nothing to do with Alfa Romeo.
Since when is Alfa going to be associated to massive US V10 engines?

It's just wrong.

It's just wrong.

Some people need to read the book: Who moved my cheese.

Innovation works:
Porsche should be an air-cooled boxer.
The Porsche 928, introduced a V8, I always loved that car.
We would have no GT2 RS with only air cooling, etc...

Car manufacturers need to make mistakes to come out with greatness from time to time, otherwise we get a car park that is, ... well like most of the average cars these days, ...

I agree. But I don't care - to me, the looks are good enough to ignore this. :)

All's I'll say is it's parked bloody close to the car next to it. Oh, and now we know where the Bristol Fighter chassis' went. Surprised no one spotted that.

I think that when this goes on sale Fiat will own Dodge. Fiat also own Alfa Romeo. It's a perfect match, Italian design with American muscle. Lets just hope they send them off to Ferrari for the set up!

Your joking right?, nearly every Zagato creation apart from a select few have been universally panned as being the most hideous things to ever come out of Italy. The company is a joke whereas Pininfarina have actually done tasteful looking stuff including on mass production cars which everyone can buy. The only Zagato I have every liked was the Aston Martin DB7 Z and AR1.

Robin.

They certainly are an aquired taste but a joke? Universally panned as the most hideous things to ever come out of Italy? Gimme a break.
Your taste or opinion clearly doesn't represent what I read over the years in various magazines nor does it actually matter whether something is universally admired or not as these things often turn into tiresome cliches.
Everybody seems to love the styling of the current Astons, they are beautiful to my eyes too but also rather save and conventional and eventual becoming boring and predictable very fast.
A lot of Zagato's creations perhaps aren't conventionally attractive (that's something different than another word for ugly though) and therefor aren't going to be universally admired by everyone, and to me that's a good thing.
These Italian design houses are mostly representing an artistic vision which you may appreciate or not, that you clearly don't isn't the same as a claiming that's a broad consensus amongst petrolheads though.
They divide opinion which by definition rules out any consensus, unless one is reached between those who share the same which again isn't universal.

Having said that, I am puzzled by this TZ3 though, not the way it's styled but the fact it's an Alfa based on a Viper.
I've nothing against Vipers (love'em) but why make it an Alfa? Or why make an Alfa based on a Viper?
Yes I get they very recently became part of the same company but that isn't a very convincing reason to me as not only isn't there a shared history as far as I know but an exclusive handbuild Alfa has always had an Alfa-engine or more recently one derived from either Maserati/Ferrari which at least share the same characteristics associated with an Italian high-performance car.
It seems Zagato again created something which splits opinion and is controversial, this time for me it's not necessarily the styling however.

I... I... I actually liked the Hyundai Matrix. Okay, it wasn't the sexiest thing on wheels, but Pinin did a halfway decent job. Not quite as iconic as Guigaro's work on the Fiat Uno or the Daewoo Matiz (let's face it... the original was kind of nice... except for the fact that it was a Daewoo...).

Zagato's designs are sometimes outlandish, but that's better than houses like Pinin that put their stamps on overly conservative designs. I feel that the area underneath the headlight is unnecessarily fussy, but I think it's a whole lot bolder than the original iron. I think that rear quarter will look better if you can see clearly what they did with the rear. It's shaped like that because the deck sweeps up into the glass in an arcing curve (as you can see in the shape of the rear windshield through the side window). Reminds me a bit of classic coach work, where designers played more with the shape of the rear windows than in today's square-bottomed designs.

Alfa doesn't need help with their current design? Oh yeah... because they're copy-pasting whatever design language they have at the moment on their cars without rhyme or reason... much like Mitsubishi or Porsche do... the Brera was an absolutely hideous mess of misproportioned styling cues. The MiTo is better, but not great.

Read this just now:

Aston Martin announces an exciting new collaboration with renowned Italian design house Zagato in the 50th anniversary year of the iconic DB4GT Zagato. The first product of this renewed working partnership will be shown for the first time at the famous Villa D'Este Concours on 21st May 2011, with a racing debut at Nürburgring later in the month.

a bit off topic (like most posts), but without pictures I did not want to start a new thread.

I personally, wish Zagato would have kept the front of the first concept, & morphed it with the rear of this model, but that's just me. As they sit, I think they're both good looking, but the previous TZ3 seems to pay more tribute to the models before it.

If only I could +rep this post. Icompletely agree that Zagato is far from a joke. They are an acquired taste, at most.

Not bad at all, wouldn't mind one if i'm honest. However it does look a bit 90s.

The only odd part about it is the headlights. Besides that, the wheels are awesomely retro, thr wraparound glass is much more cohesive than on the other car, the deeper red is more mature and luxurious, the car is still curvy but has more modern and agressive edges here and there, and the lack of graphics make this thing look almost production-ready and much more like a proper street car.

I think it's great. I think both the cars are great really. They both have Vipers underneath which means their proportions are immensely powerful and gorgeous.

^ All of the above 👍

I don't know what to think of this car! Sometimes I think it looks great some times I think it doesn't. But one thing is for sure it causes impact anytime someone watch it. And if it is an ACR inside it will be a great car.
