Alibaba purchasing - any problems?

I was reading an article on Ars Technica that referenced buying this Mini-PC from Alibaba. Never used Alibaba, and one else?

I shop there from time to time, mostly small cheaper stuff though. Had a few parcels get lost, don't know whose fault was that, but the sellers refund you with no big hassle, after a thorough chinglish dialogue only though.

A thing to keep in mind is that it's made up of thousands of small shops/sellers. Like eBay. So checking the store's reviews, rating and whatnot before buying is a good practice.

Just be careful that what your buying isn't counterfeit...a year ot two ago while shopping/browsing audio cables I saw a lot of counterfeits being sold there. In fact I don't think I saw a single legitimate audio cable on that site.
