I do not believe that the UFO conspiracies are real. Nor am I religious. Just wanted to clear that up before people start misinterpreting me.

Okay, if the purported UFO landings and "humanoid-looking aliens" are actually real, then here is my theory...

Let's see the various reasons. Why would aliens want to come here?

1. Researching our species.

Seems the most probable. They may research our species in a similar way to how we research the Kakapo.

2. Destroying the world and using it for themselves.

Extremely unlikely. They would already have the technology capable to destroy us easily with a teraton bomb. However, seeing as though they are not doing this, our species must hold a significant value for them. That leads us back to the first reason.

3. Creating a human-alien hybrid.

Seeing as though most animals aren't even able to breed with each other, it is extremely unlikely for an alien to achieve this. They would most rather spend their time making a whole new species out of scratch instead of trying to incoporate us into their genetic makeup.

The Kakapo is a flightless green bird native to New Zealand. It is an endangered species...

"All surviving Kakapo are kept on two predator-free islands, Chalky Island in southwest Fiordland and Codfish Island near Stewart Island, where they are closely monitored."

Assuming that the first reason is correct, this means that our species is in the same unfortunate scenario.

"All humans live on Earth, located near the Sun, where they are closely monitored."

However, since the aliens are capable of long-distance space travel, they must be many millions of years more advanced than us, much more than the Kakapo. Maybe they assume we're just a bunch of insignificant living organisms in a intergalactic petri dish.

Well, there you go. There's my opinion. However, seeing as though I don't believe in the UFO landings and abductions, the former statements do not represent my view in an overall perspective.

In actual fact, I do believe in the existence of aliens. Albiet, I think of aliens as single-celled organisms floating in pools of hydrogen peroxide rather than the science fiction-inspired "little green men".

Thanks.

ACtually, I like to think that the aliens are not from out of this world. They are human time travelers from a very distant future. Hence the humanoid appearance and the lack of desire to exterminate us.

Trust DA to stir the pot!

But I agree with him! That green guy, that's me!

That's certainly an interesting take on it, personally I don't think we have actually been visited by aliens myself. I think the UFO's people may have really seen are most likely experimental aircraft designed and built by us.

That's what I believe too, experimental aircraft built by the government...

Except that there are several billion of us with huge genetic diversity, therefore we are not close to extinction.

On an intergalactic level a species inhabiting only a single planet could be likened to that tiny near extict population of bird inhabiting that single group of islands. That's theoretical ofcourse, based on the assumption that other species would inhabit several planets.

How does a Farmer feel about his particular cattle?

Well, ditto for he taliens 'cept they think we're less productive of white fluids, annoyingly tasteless & far more ruminative.

So, yeh, its not in a pet owning mood, unless you're Ms. Rice.

Prrrrrrrrrrrrr! :O

Several billion of us in one place... How does that saying go about having all your eggs in one basket? I'd assume that If aliens had the technology to get here (and they knew this planet was inhabited), they would have the ability to destroy, or at least lay waste to large swathes of this planet. If they can create some form of engine to travel light-years rapidly, then it could also be turned into a weapon of some sort.

Personally, I think it can go one of three posible ways. Either they are out there and they are not bothered about us - just like we barely notice bugs etc. They are out there and are heading for us - Lets just hope they want to swap future technologies, rather than destoy or enslave us. Or lastly - we truly are alone in this universe. Time will tell which is true...

They could well be out there, but as yet unable to cover the HUGE swathes of emptiness that is outer space...

Them stars are far, far away....

There could be other planets with humans just like us, who knows what's really out there, but my opinion on UFO's still stands.

i believe we're all aliens and a product of "comet seeding" which is something NASA is participating in these days.

There are several articles about this is some magazines and on the internet, but I haven't read anything about NASA admitting to it, or denying it. But, they have talked about it in the past.

It's rumored that Europe countries want to start comet seeding, too. Same with China and Japan. Do a search and you might be surprised what you find.

On the "weird **** O' meter" it gets an 8 out of 10.

I think all UFO sighting are just of some drunkass aliens. They have rejects, too, man. You ever get lost on some forsaken field miles away from the interstate with your lunch in your lap, dude? Same concept; larger scale.

I'll let the Frat Aliens end this bit here: http://www.mcpeepants.com/sounds/037frataliens/frataliens5.mp3

I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien, I'm a Belgian in New York, woho, I'm an....

There he is, the one and only; "Sting" (and he's not even an alien).

Hail Xenu.
