Hi all, new to the forums.

Looking for some suggestions on cars to drive for the All Japan Amateur. I prefer to use stock cars (or race cars) without significant mods, except for tires obviously. I also like to run cars that are of the same style as those I'm racing against.

What's the minimal car anyone has been able to win with?

I tried the stock Raybring NSX as that is actually one of the cars in the race, but I'm demolishing the field with it.

I tried the Spoon S2000 but that just doesn't have the horsepower. Great in the curves, but the 2 str8 aways are too much to overcome.

The Mines and Nismo Skylines are possibles, but I'm having trouble getting them through the curves fast enough.

I have a ton of cars so any suggestions are welcome. A modified RX8? Lancer Evo VI?

I ran the Nissan Z Concept for the Trial Mountain Endurance, that was pretty good, but nobody within 2 laps by the end.

Thanks

i dont think u know what ur looking for
u want a car thats fast on corners and fast on straights... but u want to get comp a chance... not gonna happen

Hey Doze, you're missing the point. I want a car that's just barely good enough in the str8s and corners to win the race. I don't think those cars are capable of winning even if driven to perfection.

Although I'm getting close with the Mines. Just burning the tires up too quick to make it 5 laps.

My vote would also be the Silvia C-West, with mild HP tuning. It's a GT300-class car from the JGTC series, as opposed to the GT500-class heavyweights. Add a little sauce and it should be just about right.

Welcome to GTPlanet!

If you can last 5 laps in the Mines, I'd suggest that you buy some Slicks...(T3s) to last the five laps...;)

My vote would be a modified TRD Celica, but then I'm a bit mental like that.

Try the Clio Sport V6 or Race Car.

From the sounds of it, I'd say you run the cars with ASM turned on... Turn it off... The Mine's should be killing everything Amateur leagues can throw at it.

I would say use the MR-S autobacs, running against JGTC GT-500 cars the GT-300 class autobacs will struggle, but should be able to beat the dumb AI

Finally got some time to race again.

The CWest Razo Silvia ended up being a great suggestion.

I found I just could not beat the AI with the car stock without a little horsepower boost, so I had to add a Stage 1 turbo. Even with that it was a great challenge. Highly recommend to those of you that like close racing.

The speedway I just couldn't win. I had not bought any additional tires before going racing and the stock T4s would not last 10 laps. I could lead up to lap 8 then the tires would be bright red and no amount of blocking or drafting would get me by them. I dicked with the setup changing the downforce, camber, brake dist, etc, but nothing would keep the tires from burning up.

Thanks for the advice.

Yes, I'll have to try it myself one time...maybe with a Spoon S2000 Racecar though, seeing as it's also a GT300 class car...:)
