jeez, people have little comings together with another car a few times and suddenly they are dangerous drivers

No. I said he is the "most dangerous driver in F1", not "he is a dangerous driver".

it onyl takes a little tap to DNF your car and someone elses

It only takes a little tap, at 210mph, to die or kill someone else. But that wasn't the point. The point was that Villeneuve is involved in too many "little taps".

On the other hand, some drivers do seem to make stupid moves, that go behond a 'miscalculation' or 'mistake'. E.G sato that trys to outbrake from a distance that even Blind, Deaf, Mentally Impaired, Disalusioned, Egotistical, Living in Third World Country That Has No Motorsport Heritige Freddie could tell is a country mile beyond 'to far back to even thinking about passing even if the car in front stops like a Mac Truck hitting a little kids tricycle'

 how accurate.

hear, hear! 👍 Especially considering he's a veteran, and should know better. Sato, I'm willing to forgive as an overeager little puppy... (although, my forgiveness has worn thin over the past few races... he just doesn't have the pace)... but JV is just too rusty.

Looks like Villeneuve didn't want to let his new title slip today. It also looks like Sato wants it off him...

now it goes beyond any form of funny. These two are making Webber's amount of collisions this year look good. Villinuave is starting to show pace now, to bad he cant race (in fact I bet the only reason he didnt hit too many people early in the year was becuase he wasnt fast enough to hit them :P ).

I also have a question to raise- to everyone in general, jsut asking your opinion.
Famine quite fairly pointed out that it only takes a shunt at 200mph to kill someone. Now, considering this, what do you think of Alonso's move on Schumacher at 130R now? Yes it was good, but just think what could have happened.

This move was hailed as pure gold, yet one racer getting into the back of another around a slow hairpin erupts in chaos and suggestions of how dangerous these moves are.

Sure Sato, Villineuve, and to an extent Webber have had their fair share of collisions, but the only places they and others more often than not take undue risk is thorugh slow sections. And part of the time collisions happen when racing room isnt given. maybe its only a matter of time before one or the other makes a stupid move at a fast section of track. Somehow i dont see that coming, The V-neuve and sato are stupid, but they aint brainless or fearless. Although I wonder wether Alonso is, only with more skill attached.

Alonso knows Schumi isn’t racing anymore (not racing to the extent where he’d try and hold his line around 130R anyway). But if Schumi did try to hold the line it would have been the mother of all crashes! Nowadays the drivers are very safe inside those cockpits so it’s unlikely there would have been a severe injury, but it would have been a very crazy crash!

So Alonso was smart, but he really had to be sure Schumi wasn’t as racey as he’s been known to be.

I disagree. Schumi was holding his line insanely while Alonso and Kimi were trying to pass him. It was fun to watch the fake-defend-pass moves Kimi and Fernando were doing.

I don't think Michael expected Fernando to try and pass on such a fast corner. He really underestimated the grip of the Renault there. Notice that he didn't give Kimi a single inch of space on that turn, lap after lap, after Fernando passed him there.

The difference between how Kimi and Fernando pass as compared to someone like Sato is brains. They don't attack every corner, they actually use strategy and a bit of psychology. You don't just dive into the first opening you see and hope the guy moves aside.

That's what separates the men from the boys.

There’s a difference between holding your line into Casino chicane compared to trying to go two wide thrtough 130R. Michael has nothing to gain from trying to test Alonso’s nerves.

Plus the Renault was a monster in straight line speed at Suzuka, whereas Kimi was hitting the rev limiter before the end of the straights.

Which makes the win seem oh so much more impressive than the uber-impressive it already was.

It could mean that McLaren had the gear ratios a lot tighter. Kimi's car made Giancarlo's look like a beached whale... the speed difference was that great.

I know Giancarlo isn't in the same league as Kimi or Fernando, but 2-3 seconds off is just too much.

Yeah, the McLaren wasn’t correctly geared, I guess since they did most of their running in the wet they didn’t get a correct idea of what sort of speeds they’d be reaching in a dry race.

I also read that Kimi said he didn’t know what the weather would be like on Sunday, so they could have had the car slightly set up for the wet.

On Villeneuve in 2006, there is a strong rumour that he has a $30m exit clause in his contract. So he's either going to be a BMW driver or he's going to be out shopping for toys...

No way, i can't believe Sauber would of signed that, if they did then A) Peter Sauber is an idiot, B) BMW are crying and C) JV and his managment are damn good at negotiating contracts.

BMW should take JV and give him a car with...mmmmmh...500 HP, so he will be lapped even by a Minardi five times in a race. He will leave BMW after the first race.

By the sounds of things I don’t think BMW will have a choice but to give him a 500BHP engine. They say the don’t think their engine will hit 19,000RPM – with Cosworth shouting figures of 21,000RPM, BMW might be in alot of trouble.

Blake

Might work, but it seems he thinks a blue flag means "Some tosser trying to pass you - block at all costs!".

 oh man thats great...

he has been since he started driving again.

i dont think he needs a drive. any of those other drivers mentioned in that article could do just as good a job if not better imo.

That article is typical of the time of year. It's nothing but speculation. There are no new facts in it at all. I really hate ITV-F1: they try to portray themselves as serious about F1, when in fact all they do is regurgitate whatever they hear on the PA wire, reformatted and dumbed down for the masses. I only ever read The Mole there, and even that's gone downhill recently.

I read something where Heikki said that he couldn’t get into BMW because of contractual problems with JV… and I agree with Giles, ITV-F1 is one news source I stay away from.

I have been reading thier article for the whole season and they always get it right
