I wanted to see if there might be any expressions of interest for an all rotary leaderboard for everything from Drifting to Time Trialing to (hopefully eventually) legitimate Drag Racing.

I intend to have seperate leaderboards for stock cars and modified cars so that those of us without the interest or skill to tune cars still have somewhere to record and compare times / scores (yes, that means drifting stock cars too...it can be a bit of a challenge!)

Stock cars being those with stock tires (defined as the tyres on the car at the time of purchase) and no oil change, no aero, no aftermarket tuning or fiddling (including brake balance). The exception here would be for Drift, where the maximum tires allowed would be Comfort:Soft. Paint and wheel changes would be permitted.

This would also mean that if you performed the "Oil Change "Glitch"" on your Prize-Car Furai (or any other vehicle you've received as a prize) it would fall into "modified" territory. Fear not, however, there is often a Furai in the OCD or failing that it does appear in the UCD which would fall into the stock section (as it can't benefit from the Oil Change "Glitch").

Modified cars would be allowed unlimited tuning and modifications (with the possible inclusion of PP Brackets for Modified cars (as there is a difference between a drivetrain or suspension tune and simply whacking every mod on the car...or not...I don't know...it just popped in to my head)).

(let me know if I missed any or if there are any errors)

With such a lengthy list of cars and tracks I would envision it would be quite a lengthy post of records by the end. I'm undecided whether to break it up into classes for each generation or to have individual leaderboards per vehicle (or some other way I haven't thought of as of this particular moment).

It doesn't bother me from a record keeping point of view, I'd simply hate to see if I broke it up that everyone would just use the fastest car from each generation instead of driving what they wanted.

I may even decide to use the tracks as the Organisational Unit within which to keep records rather than under each car...I don't know...just a thought.

I haven't decided what to do about "Driving Options" either, though I'd say...tentatively...I may keep it in line with the WRS and leave Driving Aids optional (excluding Skid Recovery Force), I'm not aware that any of the other aids would enable anyone an advantage (with respect to time, for example). Also, Grip Reduction on Wet Track/ Track Edge to be set to "Real", and Mechanical Damage Optional (...you can turn it on if you really want to...I might)

I'd prefer at this stage for all times / scores to be set offline.

I'd like to apply the Standard GTP OLR Rules:

Standard Clean OLR Rules:

2 wheels on (or vertically in line with) the track at all times
Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track
Runoff areas are not part of the track
No contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible
If you're not 100% sure that your lap is clean, then consider it dirty
No hybrids
No cheating of any kind, these are relaxed races and we are experienced racers, we know what times can be done, and we can read your mind.We will know.
Nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules
Save your best lap/ghost replay

All time trials / drift trials / etc. would be required to be done offline.

As for time/score verification I'm a PAL user so I'm happy to verify replays if necessary (unsure if this will become as serious as that), I'd also like for 1 (one) photomode shot from the replay at a moment of the users' choosing to accompany the replay / time / score submission to brighten up with place and possibly be the title-shot for each record category (the photo being of the current record holder).

Looking for feedback on all of the above....hope I haven't forgotten anything.

About me: I'm a huge rotary fan who often finds himself simply driving / drifting the various rotary vehicles in GT5 around the various tracks. More recently I've been setting up online track days for Rotaries at Laguna Seca (not that anyone has actually joined my rooms...) and zipping around in my stock cars trying to beat my times. I am also learning to drift (offline) and through my drifting I'm also getting better at taking photomode shots from the replays.

You're welcome to add me:
