This thread is for testing the car that you will use in the All Star Sedan Championship.
In here you can take the car you are going to use(find it here) and test it and get a
feel for it. There will be two track used for testing, here are the tracks.

Fuji Speedway 2005
El Capitan Reverse

Now you can do this by going to practice or track meet, ether will do.
All I would like you to do is tell me what you think of the car and the series it self.
Also you can post your entry here as well. Well with that I wish everyone good luck.

I will get on this in the AM, if nothing untoward happens. I may try a couple of different cars for kicks, and giggles.

I'm sorry to have to say that I let you down.
Many obligations popped up to keep me from driving much this weekend.
On the upside, I got most of the big stuff on my wife's Christmas list.
Though it's a list of stuff you wouldn't normally by your wife for Christmas...
I'll get to testing the cars soon.
Currently, feeling a bit ill...so it may be a bit.

That's ok. I know that real life come's first. And by the looks of thing's my series might not make it.
But I'm not sad, because I learn more every time I make a thread on what people want.
You should go check out my thread in the Long Race Series thread's called "What Type Of Race Series Would You Like".

I'm feeling you on that.

I did check out your thread, it looked like interest just died:(.
Anyways I am giving till next year before I deside to close my series down.

Is it early enough to join? I'm interested in running either the Jaguar S-Type R, or the Lotus Carlton. On the S-Type R, am I allowed to use the original gearbox that comes with the car? The quickshift is so cool... And seeing this is an overweight, sluggish car, it doesn't give it any advantage.

Working my way through a setup for the S-Type R - fun car, good looks. If only we were allowed a choice in the wings. Carlton will be tested later, it sounds fun, too.

What tyres should I get?

I'm currently running 1'43.4s on R3 tyres. Car is well set-up for El Capitan - very responsive, and I finally solved the brake-lock problem. Now off to test the Lotus...

I want all of the cars to use a custom transmission so you can get the gearing you want.
And I would like it if you used sport tire's because that's what we will be using in the series.

Fine with me 👍
But if the stock gearing suits me - can I keep it?

I'm not using the Carlton, I didn't like it. Stickin' with the super-luxurious, heavy-weight Jaguar in British Racing Green

Go ahead and buy the race tranny.
Use the tranny trick on it. And pick out a suitable final drive ratio.
You will be amazed at how much it will seem your "power" has increased.
If you don't like it you can always use the adjustment screen to go back to the stock tranny.

Nice:D. Now I can try my car, and think of a team name at the same time:D.
I always do my own gearing. I just don't like stock gearing:indiff:.
And nothing from Tri yet:(. I think he's mad at me:(.
I was thinking of asking jump-ace, but I don't think he'll have ehough time to do a big race:indiff:. I'll find someone to race with:). Laters.

Sammy.

PS. If any one needs a race partener, you can ask me if you like. Dosen't matter. Just PM me. Bye.:D

I know the tranny-trick, but the stock gearbox of the Jaguar (and the Mercedes SL600) is just amazing - it shifts without a single pause. It's like a continueous stream of power, because the shifts, literally, take nothing.

I'm off to check a power-problem with the car - It seems like it lacks some Horsies with the parts you mentioned are allowed.

  • Fresh Oil, Racing Exhaust, Stg.1 NA, Polish&Balance, Chip - 510HP (Garage and tuning), or 503HP in the power-curve.
  • Same setup, no chip - 496HP (garage and tuning), or 489HP in the powercurve.

And Sammy, nobody said anything against 3 in a team ;)

Yes you are right, I looked and the part's are different. Go and check out the new part setup.
Really sorry about that:(.

That's ok. If were all on one team, there won't be any one to race.
Besides, I like thought of having my own team name. Thanks for the offer though.:)

I'll have my pic up soon. I just got the pic to use today. So I'll work on it tonight when I'm uploading videos.:D Laterz.

Sammy. AKA Maverick Hunters Team Unit Zero.:D

Well, after about 12 'shakedown laps' with no changes to set-up adjustments, except downforce to max and numerically lower rear axle ratio, with S3 tires.....we're lapping at 1:44.602 with many areas for slight improvements in racing line.

The car seems to be quiet well behaved in all areas, with good balanced power and torgue. The gearing seems to be a little to short for the torgue of the motor, but we'll work on that as soon as I'm a little more comfortable getting around the track.

I'm looking forward to what the competition will do in their car choices, but I'll just stick with this car without any testing of the others.

My Jaguar S-Type R, with a slight lack of power (Didn't run the new power-settings yet), currently moves around El Capitan at about 1'50 a lap on S2s, but I didn't fully dial in the suspension. Used the tranny-trick for the gearing, it seems to be very close to the speed-of-change on the stock "True-Automatic" tranny. Need to widen up the gears a bit, the car has tremendous torque (650Nm ), and the suspension isn't dialed in correctly. I'm trying to figure out a way to make it more responsive under turn-in and braking... I'll have to open up a thread in the tuning-section. Perhaps a whole thread with tuning for those sedans might help?

The previous post refers to practice at Fuji 2005....1:44.6's in the Holden Commadore SS '04

I'm heading out to El Capitan Reverse to do some laps there....I'll post a preliminary time in a few minutes.

El Capitan (Reverse)....1:46.423 with no setup changes except downforce and a little more rear gear than I used at Fuji 2005.

I'm really pleased with what I've seen so far with the balance of this car.

I tryed my car today. Can't keep the flipen thing on the road!
I'll try again tomrrow. But I don't think I'll be able use this car. I might be able to drive fine on another track.

Why yes you can, but don't think I will get enough entry's to start the series.
If that happen's I will close down both thread's and may open them on a later date.

But if you close them. Every one'll think that you might never open them again. Then you wouldn't have ehough racers.

He is right you know, you should carry this on. I must say tha this a brilliant idea:tup:

Yes I know I should keep going, but with very little entry's it will be very hard.
And latey it's like this part of the site has slowed way down. And people are
becoming very picky about what they want for a race series. Oh well I guess,
another race series die's. And appie17, NightmareHunter is a girl(my little sister).

I would like to thank all of the racer's who showed interest in my series but I
am going to close it down as I don't have enough entry's. I'm sorry if I make
you sad or mad about this, and I didn't want to do this but with about 10 entry's
I just see a reson to keep this series open. Again I'm sorry about this:(.
