Hey, Matt Rock here: writer, drummer, lover. I like long walks on the beach, pizza, and my 458 Italia
.
My favorite cars are the Italia, the Aston Martin DB9, the MINI Cooper S, and my crazy-awesome '68 Fiat 500 F, which I've nicknamed something that I probably can't say here; let's say "the gentleman entrepreneur Panda." It's painted vitamin C orange, with gold rims, a carbon fiber hood, and a spoiler, making it the coolest car ever made in the history of coolness. I built it to try and race at 250pp, only to find out that it's rare to find anyone who wants to race at such a low performance standard. Broadly speaking, I'm a fan of European cars, particularly the exotics. I also like odd cars; cars you wouldn't normally expect in a racing game.
I tend to like the weirder rooms; demolition derbies, strange challenges, panda ball (long story), and generally goofing around. I flip the serious switch for the racing series I've created over on the playstation.com forums; the GT classics and exotic touring series. I'm not the sort who races to win so much as I race to have fun.
How did you find GTPlanet?
Last night I was talking about a race series I was putting together in a room called "Top Gear PP Challenge," and someone recommended I stop by here.
Where are you from?
Binghamton, New York in the United States.
When did you start playing the Gran Turismo games?
One day many years ago, I went to a game store to buy a specific game, but they were out of stock. The clerk told me I might be interested in Gran Turismo, which had just come out that day (for the PS1). I bought it on a whim, and since then, I've gotten every "main" Gran Turismo game for the PS1, PS2, and now the PS3 on the day they've been released (excluding prologues)
Do you play with a steering wheel?
I do not. Also, if this is relevant, I do not use a microphone as mine is broken, and my other USB mic doesn't work with the PS3.
What other games do you enjoy?
That's a pretty lengthy list. Fallout, Civilization, Grand Theft Auto, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Borderlands, Sims 2, World of Warcraft, Metal Gear, FIFA, Battlefield 1942, Battlefield 2, The Movies... I could go on like this for a while.
What are you most looking forward to doing in the community, now that you're a part of this site?
I've created two racing series', one of which I've posted here and is awaiting moderator approval. I hope to host yearly racing seasons that will appeal to both hardcore and "just for fun" drivers.
