Today I was watching a few old videos of Alonso since I can't wait for the start of the race tomorrow. What a surprise when I saw that a year ago, during a conference he did for the university program Universia he tried later a few laps with our favourite game, in one of those official stands that were at GT Acadamy and other GT5P events of the kind. At the beginning of the video, at his right is Emilio Botin (the president of the Santander bank), later Flavio Briatore is with him talking before he gets into the Gran Turismo 5 Prologue stands.

This video is one year old, but I found it great to see him at the wheel, and maybe some of you would like to see it if you haven't:

At the beginning he was just explaining the situation that at that time he had (F1 2008, Renault). He talked about the big distance between the R28 and BWM, McLaren & Ferrari, and so that, how he was going to need points in Circuit de Catalunya GP 2008. He also talks and jokes about what he'll do after he finishes his F1 career.

By what I can hear in the video, it seems to be some kind of GT5P party/final (not necessary GT Academy) in Barcelona. He started watching the finalists skills & results, and after some of finalists ends their laps, he gets into the stand to test it a little on High Speed Ring and during his time at the stand, through the conference microphone there are comments for the people about how he's doing his times at the circuit. At the end, he and Emilio Botin are with who may be the winner of that little final, for the delivery of a Playstation 3. If somebody is interested on a translation of his word on that old conference, just ask and I'll do one. The video was uploaded by the television channel, Libertad Digital TV. Unfortunately it's quite short, I would love to see more length of the video dedicated to his skills in the game !
