my problem with this game is of course, first and foremost, i preordered this game in december when they told me it would be out in the spring, now im still.........WAITING!!!!! til i guess fall or later????????????

So, my other problem, looking at some of your car lists that you have posted, i see a scary similarity to GT3 and even GT2, now while i see some great new editions, and some great returnees, i see that by the time this game finally gets to us the cars will be obselte again. I mean what about the new C6 corvette, i see the nissan Z, listed as a concept again, its in production i see them all over the place. i would rather see a more up to date car list than just more cars, i mean who really want s a 60s beetle?
I mean i watch lots of road racing and racing of all kinds, Pontiac and Lexus have some great Rolex Sports Car prototypes and the list could go on.......

I love the gran turismo series, but unless they can come up with some of the newer stuff, i may be relegated the madden nfl and tiger woods through the remainder of my adult gaming life.:banghead:

Yeah unfortunately they aren't the car producing cyborgs we had hoped :(

Yeah, i'm looking forward to driving the 60s beetle more than most other new additions.

Or a '49 Beetle, even!

If we wanted to include every sports car and race car, the car list would be in the thousands. Accept it for what it is and just hope for more next time.

They have both the Z concept and prodution car. And whos to say they wont have the C6. The new Z is 2 years old now. They are not trying to please just 1 person but millions.

The first car I take on the 'Ring will be the '49 Beetle!!

If you didn't find interesting cars in the 300 or so already confirmed, I can't help you. The BMW 1 series isn't current enough? Those cars were just announced. And exactly how do the cars become obsolete anyway?

I think all the older cars is going to be what makes the game worth it to me, i love playing around with the old a$$ cars in the second one

This game is aiming at historical significance.

They would be stupid not to include the old bug!!!

And dont you dare critisise a car because its "old and crap".

Its a classic!!!!

Some people just cant find the class.......:banghead:

Lol, I hope they have herbie the love bug.

I found the ass, does that count? It's the same as a Bug right? :p

GT4 isn't about driving the newest car on the market its about driving cars from all eras and KY has said they are really concentrating on a Historic theme for part of the game. I've always wanted the Beetle to be in GT for the simple fact that its a classic and one of the world'd most known cars, so what if its not as fast as your souped up Skyline its still a car that deserves a spot along with other classics. I can't belive your complaining about that, we are getting a game that features 500+ cars what more could you want.

Ahh, Ann Arbor, Michigan... home of the mighty Michigan Wolverines...

I know people have said this about me in my threads, but, I don't know what the deal is here. Are you telling us that all the newer cars now will be obsolete by GT4's release? If so, look below this paragraph for my response. If not, disregard my response and tell me what this is about. Okay, here I go.

Don't worry about the cars being obsolete. I think there are a few conflicts to consider. First off, the automotive industry doesn't stop when someone wants to release a game. With that said, you can only deal with cars that have been released. What you WANT to have in a game that's not out yet, that's why you have concept cars. For example, GT3 included the 350Z and Mazda RX-8 as concepts, and you have to EARN the Acura RSX rather than buy it off the lot (by the way, you can't buy ANY concepts in GT3). Polyphony Digital cannot keep up with new cars when trying to come up with a new game. So if the next Mustang was released like... right now, PD would have to stop all of their efforts and go into the intricacies of the new Mustang. It will be good because a new car is in the game. However, it comes at the expense of a longer wait for the game. And if you think about it, before the next auto show season rolls around, the only thing you CAN do as a game company is put in cars that are either out for a whie or just recently came out. So, of course they'll be obsolete by the time the game ships. You can't expect new things to come into the game while still in production. Look at the Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR supposedly slated for GT2. Had KY and PD got the licensing to put it in the game, it would have made it. So you can't expect new cars to come in as they are released.

You may see this as a problem, but from a humanistic perspective, that's just how things go. No one in their right mind can even fathom what new cars will come out. If a car hasn't yet been released (much less a prototype or concept), then what's the point of trying to include it into an upcoming game? So, I'm not trying being mean or disappoint you, but you have to go with what you have. If the game was made before the next line of cars show up at a car show or in car dealers, then it would be perfect to include old cars and completely new cars. Okay? So don't worry about it. Take care, alright?

First off, there are at least 340 cars confirmed for GT4, with around another 150 from The 359's car list. True, not all cars from his list will be in, but it shows a general amount of what will be in, 500. Plus, we haven't seen more than one F1 car pic, and who knows how many will be in.

Second, it's not the cars that will be it for me, or any of you, as far as I'm concerned. The tracks are far more important than the cars. Who cares if the Volkswagon Beetle will be in. I think it will be fun to drive, along with other little cars.

Don't worry about the small cars. If you forgot what cars will be in GT4, click on the GT4 Gallery link in my signature for a reminder.

Maybe companys like PD are privy to early info on cars from certain manufacturers, models that no one will even here of for another 3-5 months. The BMW 1Series comes to mind from E3.That car was apparently only announced on the net that week or somewhere around that time.

That doesn't mean they can do that for every single model though. They can only get so much notice.

Well that was a wide range of responses, some quite catty! I am sure you know who you are....... I was bummed by the apparent omission of the new C6 corvette when it was developed at the same time as the little SSR hot rod pick up thing was, seemed like it should be in there. Maybe it will be. I am sure that as a die hard fan of this series I will enjoy it no matter what. I think some of the cyborg and nasty comments like i was insulting somebodys girlfriend were inappropriate, it is just a game after all. Open the curtains and get out for a real drive once and awhile too! And for my rational friend in Houston, thanks for the at least intelligent response and for Roy Williams in the draft this year!!!!!!

Go Lions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Go Wolverines!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GOOOOOOOOOOOOO PISTONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pictures and info on the SSR were released long before the C6 (not that I'm assuming it won't be in GT4). SSR's are also on the streets now, C6 not till later this year. I will be surprised though if the C6 doesn't make it in. Let's all just wait till we see a final car list and then we can gripe about omissions. And then would someone please tell me of a game with a better selection?

Hand made is always better. ( well only if its hand made cars ex - Porsches, Lamborghinis,Ferraris on and on and on)

My game, Uber Kool Pro Racing Driver Jnr 2004, boasts over 5000 different cars - each one a Lada in various stages of disrepair.

Wow, Kakkarot... until I paid attention to what you replied, I thought you were trying to punk me out. Anyhow, yeah. To me, I believe that every issue and aspect of GT4 affects at least one other person rather than myself. You are a newcomer to GTPlanet, and all I'm trying to do is make things welcome for you. I am a volunteer and a friend. I don't like starting rivalries and fights, and especially, I don't want to screw up new members' experiences. Even if an idea is downright stupid, I'll still try to reply if I can.

But Kakkarot, think about this. Remember GT2? At the time, the C5 Corvette (my favorite of the modern era, other than the more powerful ZO6) didn't make it into GT2 as well. So you were stuck with the ZR1 model, and wouldn't see the sexy C5 until GT3. It does, however, have that BEAUTIFUL Sting Ray from 1963. So, getting cars into GT4 involves more than just desires, but also getting licensing and stuff. So, there you have it. And nice to see another football fan. I'm pulling for my hometown Texans, and the University of Houston Cougars. So, see you around!

That's not entirely true, they make great cars, and they make GREAT games, I'd rather wait a few more months and throw in a few more features such as the DS2 sensitivity control then rush and release an unfinished product. I think that postponing the release makes PD more of a man than EA is!!!

May sound like a cheap newb* but patriots all the way (from mass)

also i'm a lil disiapointed that the ferrari isn't going to be in the game, but it won't make the game worthless, it will just cause more anticipation for GT5 :D :D
