Alternative car for the German touring car event

I've seen in a few posts that the Lexus IS-F race car can be used in this event. I've just bought a Lexus IS200 GT-1 Race car '04 , would it worth hanging on to it for this for the event, can it be used??.

I'm not at the level yet where in can check entry details.
 
Just checked -- no it cannot be used.

For some reason, the IS F Racing Concept '08 is allowed in the GTCC races. I don't understand, since it's not German. Alas, I just won all 3 races with this car and it owned. :p
 
No, the only lexus that can be used is the premium one (750.000cr.)

EDIT: i am to slow ... :)
 
The Lexus IS-F Racing Concept can also be used in the Super GT series.

You don't need to be a German manufacturer to enter the DTM. There is a DTM Alfa Romeo 155 in real life and GT5.
 
If I remember correctly I used the Audi tt touring car for this event. I found it in the used car lot sorry i don't remember the price. It is one if my favorite cars to drive.
 
The Lexus IS-F concept is a very similar spec to the DTM spec, and the Lexus brand is registered to TMEE (the European registered division of Toyota in Germany), that's maybe why PD stretched their imagination and allowed it in.
 
in Bspec you win an ABT TT-R so use that :) failing that it pops up frequently in the used car lot

Just check the Car prize List and it's not listed there. Maybe you got it as a gift car level ticket?
 
ahh that is possible :P i dont pay much attention i let the cars pile up before i activate them from the delivery truck.. i just assumed.. but assuming makes.... ;)

I got both the A4 and the Abt TT from Level tickets, so that will be where people got them from.

Was contemplating buying a SuperGT for the SGT race, but since i can kill two birds with one stone, going to buy me the IS-F concept
 
why? you can use the minolta for it :L
 
Bah... I didn't realise that the IS-F was suitable for the Japanese event too! I guess I saw the DTM-ish quality of the German event and presumed that the Japanese event was restricted to JGTC cars. Double bah.

Still, I've got me a Castrol Supra - it was a worthwhile mistake!

Interestingly enough the organizers of DTM and Super GT have been working together for a common spec for I believe the 2012 season to expand the reach of both series. Their goal was that a DTM team or Super GT team can guest run in the others series, and possibly they can hold a few joint events in new places such as China, Australia, and the US.
 
I got the Audi A4 from somewhere and later won the Lexus IS F but I had already bought the Lexus and used it in the event. To bad the game won't let me sell the one I just won.
 
I've just got hold of the BMW 320i touring car, it doesn't seem very powerful. Is it up to the task?
 
I think I've seen that touring TT for over a million credits in the used car lot. IS-F RC is just as fast, a lot cheaper (.75mln) and brand new.

That would be a very good idea actually! You'd have double the number of (potential) entrants per event and an instantly aligned fanbase. Awesome!
