I am running the Altezza LM in the amateur GT wrorld champs at the moment (see my write-up).

What i would like to know is, why does it go thru front tires so damn fast!!

I have t3 tires and they are going orange by 5-6 laps!!!
the rear tires are still green by this stage.

I tred lessening the downforce on the front which helped alot, but then i found myself running wide on the corners.

the rs200 doesnt act like this!

:odd:

just add it the list of cars that chew out front tyres, the Falcon is the same

that sir is not an explanation or cure :p

no kidding, but its kind of an exuse, kind of :D

thats... er... right!
thnx for the excuse :p

so is there a cure for this curse?

my front camber is 2.0 which is not extreme...
a thought!
th front "skates" thru the corners pushing wide in a FF type fashion.... loss of traction = tire wear. So maybe if a added heaps of downforce the skidding would decrease therefore lessening tire wear?????

Agghhh!!

what do yas think?

infact i might do that when the AI get the boost at race 6

I think it's because the engine weighs quite a bit and is situated in the front...:dopey:
Not sure if GT3 takes that into account though! ;)

Ving, a man after my own heart, a fiat owner and a lover of the Altezza LM...

this is one of my fave cars....i have tried to get rid of the exessive tyre wear in the front end and have been moderately successful but i havent eliminated it....the only thing i can conclude is that its supposed to be that way in the game....just inspect the car close up in your garage and check out the size of those front disk brakes!!!

they'll stop a bloody freight train, its overkill on the front tyres...but there beautful (ahhemm...from an engineers point of view)

and as dodge says, the car is heavily front loaded, look at its profile...nose down arse up.....but that why is so stable at high speed i spose...

Yes, when you're racing, braking hard doesn't seem like it has any effect on the tires, but watch the replay and more likely than not smoke will be pouring from the tires...;)

ving: maybe is your style of driving.
If you go through the corners braking like hell and late, the tires get red in few laps.
And also it would be the brake balance. In 24 level you slow down the car in few meters, but you "eat" the tyres.;)

ving: In real life, adding downforce increases the load on the tires and shortens their life. In the game, who knows? You could well be right. Try it and see.

Try increasing your camber to 3.0 in front, and add a little toe out in the rear. 3 degrees camber is not excessive on a race car and it will help distribute the cornering load evenly across the contact patch of the front tires. Toe out in back will help the car rotate more.

Also, try biasing the brakes toward the rear to take some work away from the front tires. If that makes the car unstable under braking, then crank up the decel number on the LSD.

Let us know if any of that works!

I was going to suggest an increase in front camber also. As the car rolls, it helps keep the whole tyre on the road. Also, if you can reduce rear downforce, do this, as it will move the centre of pressure forward. This will make the rear more skaty, and therefore you can achieve similar turn-in for lower front axle loadings.

...The four cylinder 3S-GTE weighs a lot?

How do you know it's a four cylinder...;)

the normal (ie rs200) version comes with a 4cyl 2.0 ltr i think....

anyhow, reducing read downforce wont help me as turning isnt really the problem, tire wear on the front is. I might add some camber and adjust the brake ballance.

thanks for the help guys :)
